Where in the hell is this nonsense coming from? There is nothing that prohibits an impeached president from nominating a supreme court justice...there is nothing that precludes him of doing any job that he has as president. Impeachment is simply an accusation...or an indictment. He hasn't been convicted of anything.... This is just flagrantly false info.. Quit buying into garbage ignorant people spew.... Sheesh...

Yes, he is impeached. The GOOD news is the Senate can acquit even if the dried up traitor whorehag Pelosi doesn’t send the articles.

Some people suck at reading comprehension. I’m not saying the thread title is true, I’m saying the Dems will try to claim this bull and the media will back their lies.

shouldn't a SCOTUS candidate be judged by his record and not by who nominated him?

It's like saying the world is flat. It isn't and there is no rule about the SC. Saying it and it being true aren't the same. If we hear this this even more reason to exonerate Trump as impeachment really wasn't a serious exercise.

If RBG goes to room temperature, Trump and Mitch will work their magic. I'd place a reasonable bet that RBG survives through the election.

If so...then the House has just assumed power re the SC Justice Nomination Process.

Won't fly. More Nancy BS.

Not sending the articles of impeachment to the senate violated the constitutional right to speedy trial. The a Supreme Court May need to step in and correct Pelosi on his the constitution works.

This isn’t a criminal trial, Oliver Wendell Holmes.

The only criteria the Left cares about is the candidate’s position on Roe v Wade.

Wouldn't matter regardless. Senate would likely not confirm a justice in an election year.

Oh yes they will when they and the President are the same party. It's be foolish not to. But RBG gonna make it through 2020.

That's exactly how I took your OP. Not sure why others didn't.

It’s coming, just wait for it. Would be a good reason in Pelosi’s mind to take her time forwarding the Articles to the Senate.

Who will stop it?

Donald Trump will take great pleasure in nominating the next supreme court justice and the republicans in the senate will revel in confirming that nominee.

I will smile for days as it transpires before our eyes.

Can’t the Turtle set a date and if she hasn’t presented the articles by that date they are null and void?

Yes. He would have to change Senate rules but that is only a simple majority vote.

I'm beginning to believe she's immortal. Don't agree with her interpretation on some things, but she has my respect. She's a tough old bat.

Wrong! Until DJT is removed from office he is the POTUS, and as such may nominate justices to the Supreme Court or any federal courts. If RBG passes away from pancreatic cancer in 2020, rest assured DJT will make a nomination and McConnell will use the nuclear option again to appoint that justice to the Supreme Court. The reason the Dems are trying to impeach, and cause DJT to lose the 2020 election is the Supreme Court. RBG has pancreatic cancer, and there is no guarantee that she may live through another 4 year term of DJT. Meaning a re-elected DJT will almost certainly appoint her replacement especially if the Republicans continue to control the US Senate.
