The Dems were taking a pounding with Walz practically doing a soft resign as MN governor over financial fraud.
They needed anything to become the next big story where they could settle back into the victim role.
Any LEO involved shooting would do. It happened to be ICE, which gave their Minneapolis mayor a chance to get up there and say: We feared this day would come. Get the frick out of here, ICE.
