I took African American history at UNO as an elective. Liked the prof as id had him before. Older black fellow Dr Caldwell. Really good guy. Son of North Louisiana sharecroppers.

He pissed off majority of black students due to telling truth re slavery. How in Louisiana many free blacks had slaves. Trade started mostly from Africans selling to Europeans. Etc.

He was disgusted they wouldn't accept the historical record.

African American Studies course

They should really concentrate on the last 40-50 years.

That will show them where their real problems are.

What African Americans need to study is science and math.

The head of the supply chain of slaves brought into the US was usually the Kingdom of Dahomey (currently Benin), Togo, Ghana, Cameroon...

The entirety of the head of the supply chain was black tribes who slaughtered and enslaved other black tribes

There continues a slave trade through Africa and the Middle East and Asia.

AP currently offers 3 AP History courses (outside of Arts and Muisc)

European history
World history
US History

What's wrong with offering other AP history courses which may interest students? I personal took English history 1066 to present, and history of the modern middle east in college to fulfill my core credits. The more shite classes we allow kids to clep/AP/ concurrent enrollment out of thre better in my opinion. They're a waste of money for many majors

Colleges can choose whether to accept the credit and it saves money.

What's the problem with it, it's not like your child is forced to take the class.

I don't have an issue of this. One of my more rewarding undergrad classes was an Afican American Lit class. Of course, that was well before wokism. The AP designation will ensure that there's accountability in place for actual teaching and learning.

European history because the majority of Americans are descended from European stock. World History is self-explanatory, as is US History.

I'll repeat my hypothetical question from the OP: Why not AP Pilipino American History? Or AP Mexican American History?

It's further acquiescence to the woke BS that is ruining our country

I agree

In high school; the history classes would start at ancient civilizations and never would get to modern era. World war 2 maybe in middle may right before we were out for summer break

I took a modern us history elective in undergrad going from depression to Obama . Very interesting class and I learned stuff that I’d never seen before in school

Why does that matter? I'm descended from Germanic and Norwegian stock but I took English and middle East history because it was interesting.

Why are you going all Karen over an AP class? Why not Filipino or vietnamese? Hell the area I grew up in the midcities had decent sized Vietnamese and Korean communities.

shite doesn't affect me or you, you just wanna bitch like a Karen about it.

I'd love to see the curriculum for the class. What exactly will they be teaching?
