I don't know if he is the ONLY man for the job. For the most part I think he is a moron...but he seems to generally be a reliable moron in the "right" (conservative) direction.
I would prefer a more business-first Governor (such as Wag) than a wanna-be Trump blowhard. BUT, first and foremost, I want some who will (assuming he has a huge majority Republican legislature) not stand in the way from GOP backed legislation.
The rest of the south is flying past Louisiana in terms of growth and development. If there isn't a move to catch up soon, Louisiana is going to become that quasi-purple island that Mississippi starts laughing at.

Why is he a moron? I see this from some posters, but no one can explain why he is a moron. I'm legitimately asking because i don't know Landry personally.

I agree with this. Who is your recommendation?

What is his plan for education? For jobs? For tax policy? He seems actively disinterested in those subjects
The sad thing is that each gop candidate has something very interesting to offer to solve a different series problem for the state. Landry has an interesting crime proposal. Hewitt has a solid education plan. Nelson has a huge tax reform, etc.
A good governor would take the best parts of his competitors’ initiatives.

What's your opinion on the recent Debt limit deal in congress? To that point, what's your opinion on Louisiana congressman (Scalise and Graves) being centrally involved in selling the bill (dishonestly and coersively).
There was a poster here trying to sell Waguespack in part based on that issue. Where do you stand?

I’d be more interested in someone’s take on LOUISIANA’s budget and LOUISIANA’s tax structure if they’re running for Governor of Louisiana.
Congress is Congress.

The GOP in the Louisiana legislature isn’t producing any of that great legislation, though. They focus on stupid things like porn while ignoring huge problems and economic opportunities. It’s not the evil dems undermining them. Our GOP sucks all by themselves.
This state’s political class is 100% committed to protecting the status quo at all costs. That status quo only serves the political class.

I don't think there have been debates yet. I'm sure there were debates when he ran for AG, but as you said, all he wanted to do was talk about crime. Well, ATTORNEY GENERAL's job is almost exclusively about crime.
Technically you are correct, but there have been many forums. LABI and PAR had the two biggest events:
LABI has four candidates at Governor's Forum
Candidates pressed for stances at PAR forum But that's the Illuminator so some of y'all may not like it.
So here is WAFB:
PAR hosts forum for LA Gov candidates
And then there have been over a dozen smaller ones hosted by organizations like construction firms, health care, small business, coastal stakeholders, etc.
The televised debates come later after qualifying. But there is plenty of info out there for those interested.
