Actually you are one of those who are looking at the end result of the nazis. As I have stated over and over in this thread, there was a beginning. It did not involve mass murder on the part of the Germans or their government.
In fact, I am pretty sure I can prove that jewish people excelled in Germany which also made them an easy target. They were not always persecuted there.

When you defend darkhorse who is comparing Christians and conservatives in America to Jews and Nazi Germany, and ask me if I'm ever serious about debating, I can only laugh out loud.
You're defending someone who started 5 threads, count them 5 threads, in a row, within hours, attacking gays including claiming gays are pedophiles. If anyone started 5 threads attacking Christians and conservatives like that he'd be banned. How ironic for someone claiming to be bashed when his raisin d'être is to bash others.
But we have to read you and Karla and Darkhorse claim how oppressed the white man is in America, how the media controls everything, how pitiful for fricking life is. Grow the Hell up.
If I started threads comparing the treatment gay people around the world to Jews in nazi Germany, that would be a hell of a closer analogy. But I don't start threads crying how gays are routinely killed in third world countries, or how we're treated in this country like tonite with the twiiterverse having seizures because gays are marrying on TV. I don't start threads complaint of how I can't enter into a civil union much less a marriage in my state. I comment in threads and I "debate" but when you lassies start these woe is me the white man threads, it's beyond ludicrous.
Or your weekly complaints how the media influences elections and everything else in life. Ever wonder why it is when the MSM actually monopolized media, Republicans won 5 of 6 elections yet once Fox, Rush and Drudge were invented, Republicans have lost 5 of 6 popular elections? I'll tell you why. Because nutcases like you and Karla and darkhorse have found a voice and middle America repudiates you. It has nothing to do with the MSM but with right wing media because a light has been shown on the ugliness you represent.

No shite. Pretty well said. It is an unfortunate characteristic of this board and why, on occasion, some people say I come across as an a-hole. It's just that the constant, predictable drumbeat just gets tiresome. There are a few conservatives on this board who know this to be true, but they rarely break ranks publicly.

There is some truth to that statement, but, alas, there is a solid 35% of the population in lockstep with the far right and, unfortunately, some of its uglier permutations and baggage.

There is no doubt that conservatives enjoy a plurality in this country and if they're extremists would shut the hell up, they'd draw in moderates to put them in the majority. But they can't help themselves. And with the birth of Fox and AM talk and right wing blogs, right wingers have a soapbox visible for all of America to see. And America doesn't like what she sees.

These folks actually believe they are mainstream and the rest of the country is far left radical. It's both funny and pathetic.

That doesn't mean the comparison is entirely illogical. If anything, we should be very sensitive to cultural bigotry given what we've been through as a nation. Cultural bigotry does not require an obviously horrible event like the holocaust to be unacceptable- especially within our borders. We should be more sensitive to issues like this than we actually are.....and I'd hope we don't gauge legitimacy of certain acts of bigotry by a threshold set by Hitler.

There it is in a nutshell. What was 'mainstream' 40 years ago, is now 'extremist'; the 'far left' has now become the 'mainstream'. It is..."both funny and pathetic".
This nation has long endured and prospered as none before, without government breathing down the necks of it's citizenry. And it was those conditions that inspired/motivated individuals to work hard to gain affluence. Tons rose from the bottom to the top.
I remember Nikita Kruschev saying "we'll take you without firing a shot". I thought he was a zealot fool; now I realize that the man was a lot smarter that I gave credit.
Mother Nature will be the arbiter of the which of these contrarian Ideologies works and which don't; reward based on merit...or reward based on need. At least which PARTICULAR ASPECTS are *fair*, practical and prudent. Reward...creates the future. Always does. Always will.

yes, and honestly christians pretty much dominate every american institution. Calling them oppressed is just ridiculous.
And the "conservative" party controls one house of congress, is roughly even on the highest court in the land, and has quite a few governorships/state houses.
In no way shape or form are these people persecuted, certainly nothing like the holocaust or the plight of the American Indian or American Blacks.

I think "oppressed" is the wrong descriptor, hawk. Marxist/Socialists principles are contrary to the God paradigm, and to the degree that Socialists now rule the MSM, College Professorships, Government Bureaucracies (and the subsidies which 'persuade' the folk) which cultivate the 47% electorate...there is a substantial increase in the public propaganda to win the 'hearts and minds' of individuals.
