I live on the water and will live off the land (seafood) . Fresh fish, crabs and shrimp right off my back porch.

I have the Gulf at my back door. I'm probably good on food for a while.

Buy Mylar bags from Amazon along with oxygen absorbers

The bags have a ziploc type seal and can be heat sealed as well. Should be able to store dry goods for years

Grow your gardens now. Read up and get started with Hydroponics to start seeding and grow food during the winter indoors

I'm about to start raising quail after seeing a few neighbors do it. Fast meat production and high quality eggs

I need to get a rain collection system in place.

All of these things can be done right now and none require a significant monetary investment.

And also notice….. they said “middle class”. Didn’t say nothing about the “upper class”. Just an observation.

While tragic, most of them will perish first... They will simply lay down and die waiting on government assistance that is not going to come...

I doubt it. The majority of them have enough fat on their body that they could just hibernate for a few years and be ok.

And our govt thinks increasing ethanol in fuel from 10 to 15% is a good idea. They get literally everything wrong.

It kind of depends on their goals. As I see it, to meet their goals they have it right. Look for another bump to 20% in a couple of months - at harvest time.

I'll grab a 2 week or 30 day supply for a family of 4. If we get through that bucket and there is still no food, its safe to say civilization has collapsed and I can finally LARP the walking dead.

I've been building an emergency dry food / canned food / water supply for well over 2 years now, after all of the COVID-forced supply chain disruptions laid bare the need for this. I've mentioned this on other boards and been openly mocked, but we've managed the supply rotations quite well to keep dates fresh and taken advantage when sales hit. My wife hates that I've taken a portion of her workout room for shelving to support this, but understands why I've done it. If the emergency supply isn't needed, oh no we have a bunch of canned food to eat that has been well rotated.

We can't last a year on purchased food just yet but that's what the guns and ammo are for. Well, what the guns and ammo were for until an ill fated trip to the lake.

Pretty sure that Joe Biden must be the first U.S. president ever to vow at the AFL-CIO's convention that he's going to build grain silos in the Ukraine. #AFLCIOConv
