It's a badly written story (fiction), but the devout Christian writing it has only negative things to say about everything from atheists to evolution to Catholics and about how wrong and evil they all are.
So yes you might be correct (it wouldn't shock me), but it also wouldn't shock me if there was someone who had their head that far up their own arse about this issue as well.

I'm an atheist with a wife and kids and I am much more likely to visit a "Gentlemen's Lounge" than anything that calls itself an "Atheist Church".
