ATL is legendary for dating profiles that include things like, "I don't date OTP." Get fricked. People that think travel involves Dollywood and Orlando are special, but Atlanta frickwits were exclusionary 20 years ago.

Why does Fulton county need taxes from Alpharetta, 25 miles away? The multiculturalism should flourish on its own right?

The Eternal Power of Beer: Bringing Germany & Mexico Together
written by sanmigueltimes October 17, 2025 0 comments
When German settlers first came to Mexico, encouraged, they were not particularly keen on assimilating into Mexican society or contributing to the economy. They mostly just saw an opportunity to make money and send it back to Germany. However, one area where collaboration between Germans and Mexicans flourished was brewing beer.
One of the objectives of Napoleon III’s 1864 appointment of Austria’s Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian as Emperor of Mexico was to “develop the country and expand western culture.” He brought with him an entourage, among them many brewers who founded breweries all over the country. To help create well-known brands like Corona, they began brewing lager using European methods and modified Mexican brewing customs, such as adding corn to the mix.
The German influence on Mexican beer culture, however, did not stop with Maximilian’s brief empire. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, waves of German immigrants settled in various parts of Mexico, from Veracruz and Puebla to Monterrey and Chihuahua. The crisp, clear lagers that Mexico is now known for were made possible by the introduction of modern brewing techniques, refrigeration technology, and bottom-fermentation methods by visionary entrepreneurs and brewmasters. Brewing was transformed from a small-scale craft into a significant industrial enterprise by individuals like Wilhelm Hasse, who founded Cervecería Cuauhtémoc in Monterrey in 1890.
Others trained Mexican brewers by sharing their knowledge from German breweries. The end product was a distinctive hybrid culture that combined Mexican creativity with German accuracy.

Atlanta is what it is bc it is The HUB of the south.
Birmingham, could have been but they are po dunk and didn't want the Airport.
Everything comes thru Atlanta, and nobody here is from here as to the other reason it is so cultural.
I moved here from NO and helped them understand you can buy beer on Sundays and go to strip clubs without dying and going to hell.
Fulton county stretches from below the airport up thru 400 as to why. Also, 400 was a 2 way road when I moved here and now look at it, way to late I agree. GA taxes have great roads.
The streets in LA are the same terrible condition as when I left.
Some people like stats quo and do not want the influx of other cultures, Atl embraces it

Yep, my parents moved to NO from Atl 65 years ago bc nothing was happening here. I left USL(Uni of Slow Learners) in the 80's when the oil field dried up and never went back.
Would have loved to stay there but Atl has given me great opportunity since.
Still claim NO as home bc of the culture, ya catching? But I'm here for now and it's been good to me.

They should sell their houses in the suburbs and move into heavily populated Hispanic areas and enroll their kids in schools with the most non whites to keep the party going.
No one cares if there is a small productive minority population of nons who provide value and services for us. Once you allow a disproportional amount of them, often a populace of people they themselves wish to get away from, they erode your way of life similar to the way their cultural norms eroded their native land.
It’s like Sourh Africa/Rhodesia doesn’t exist. What country have whites colonized that became poorer and more dangerous afterwards? None.

Holy shite you're high.
Green's Liquor was one of the biggest opponents of liquor and beer sales on Sundays.
Fulton county looks like a barbell because they need more money to support their bullshite. The county, literally, doesn't exist outside of GA400 for miles until it gets to where the datacenters are. This shite is why cities keep going independent.

It's an hour drive from one end of the county to the other. I can change counties in Houston faster.
Posted on 11/24/25 at 9:02 pm to LemmyLives
That was then, this now bc when one county gets tax money from liquor sales, they all joined in.
You do you Lenny, enjoy Texas if thats your town with dry counties and have to get a beer license to buy at a bar. Whats up with that?
I was born there and left when I was one, and learned everything else in NO and tought what I learned to Georgians since.
Where are you in TX? Only 2 places decent there and it is still Texas, lol
Oh, and GA governor is better than TX gov and I didn't even vote for him

Don't know what you are talking about Slay.
People live where it works for them.
Not everyone lives 10 miles from work like in NO
I live 42 miles from my job in Atl, but get paid enough to make it worth my while.
Also, enjoy the drive at night with no traffic, so it's a non issue.

I guess you think the American Pie is still there and Roswell Road is the same as 20 years ago too?
Not impressed with the one landmark quoted or the Fulton county map.
Taxes paid = one is making money and we have good roads that show where the money goes for the good.

Yikes. I can’t imagine having to spend that much time away from home/kids every day. Although maybe you have the right idea.

I absolutely love living in New Orleans. What do you grieve? It’s not perfect and I wish there was more industry here but the weather has a lot more to do with that than “a certain demographic.”
The kids were annoying me yesterday so I told them to get their shoes on and we went to the lakefront. Being able to drive 10 minutes to smell the sea is awesome. Spent that morning at Tulane doing research after driving 10 minutes in the other direction. I ran into a Saints player at City Park two weeks ago and he took a picture with me and was so, so nice. And none of that cost me any money. Living here is special. You just have to be able to tolerate living around people who don’t look like you.

That exists because North Fulton (then Milton County) and South Fulton (then Campbell County) were bankrupt in the 1930s and merged with Fulton.
