You are quite mistaken. We would love to see the black communities rise up and be productive. You think we enjoy supporting them? Hell no. We want them to be self sufficient contributing members of society. It's the liberals that fear this because they'd lose their democratic plantation. I don't see anyone hating on productive educated black people.

Sorry, should have been more clear. I think the right wing talking heads start with the idea of cutting welfare. Their comments on black culture are part of a strategy to rally people to their cause. I think that's also why black folks have a general distrust of the GOP. The track record doesn't exhibit a true intent to help the black community.

I'm not claiming that people are "racist" (the word is way overused). Disingenuous maybe.

True and it's a big mistake by the GOP to keep harping on these entitlements when they make up such a small portion of the spending. Number one is cut defense. I'm all for a strong military, but anyone with any military experience can entertain you for hours with stories of military waste and excess. I think we need cuts across the board. Not in benefits or military might, but in waste. Keep these frickers on a budget. I have to. But, I do see how the GOP comes across as racist when most people think poor black person when welfare is mentioned even though more whites than blacks are on it. I'm against all freeloaders. I'm an equal opportunity bigot. I hate all worthless resources sucking parasites.

My peanut gallery isn't directed at black folks, it is meant for ignorant whites. Blacks have to make the choice for themselves. Not really anything us crackers can do.

What track record? Entitlements has lead to the near complete erosion of the nuclear black family. The leftist poverty pimps keep the handouts trickling in just steady enough to turn out the vote. The plantation grows day by day, generation by generation.

Republicans throw out things like school vouchers for minorities so they can go to private schools and get decent educations, and the poverty pimps shout them down.

LOL, fine. Trust the democrats and keep your shitty schools and your 30% graduation rates.

Discussing atrociously high levels of Black Social Pathology is never really permitted in our society, other than anonymously. You really can't say out loud exactly what the numbers are, or why they might be that way. Black America is in no way psychologically prepared for the self-diagnosis that is required to flip the script. Liberal white America has agreed to enable Black Social Pathology because black allegiance to The Democratic Party allows them to maintain power. White Conservatives for their part, are left with the short end of the stick; The Truth. The Truth in modern America is the LAST thing that matters.

Bill Maher doing cheap parlor tricks changes nothing and causes not one second of introspection by any liberal. Liberals will continue to point the finger at everyone except for whom the responsibility actually lies with.
+1

America needs to have some frank, serious discussions about race. From what I've seen, it's mostly the left standing in the way of this happening. And when I say mostly, I'm placing over 90% of the blame with the left. The reasons for this are just as you enumerated.

I have a couple of black friends that talk race with me. They enjoy my honestly and I appreciate that I can talk openly with them without them getting mad. This is what's needed. They really want to know how white people feel about them and how to help break the black cultures cycle of failure and disdain for successful blacks. They also help mentor black youth and take them to nice restaurants, country clubs etc to associate with and be exposed to wealthier surroundings. I help them fund this little social experiment and provide them with "white input". I don't understand why more don't see the need for this, and why adults can't have these discussions and remain friends.

I'd just like to bring up, Kobe's quote about the Trayvon Martin thing was true, and refreshing to see a black celebrity not jump on the bandwagon. Of course, the black community tore him up despite his color.
