Well, as it should be if you lie or your actions serve to reflect negatively on the administration.

Now, it will become a matter of who knew what, when they knew it, etc. with all of the requisite grandstanding on the part of Pelosi and Cryin' Chuck Schumer.

Democratic behavior at the moment makes me somewhat understand why rulers throughout history have tried to shut down the opposition

Do you also mean the right leaning comments and behavior on this board about California?

It's already been documented that the White House knew for at least one month. It remains to be seen just how much they knew or if they also knew on their own before that.

There was a decent, informative discussion last night. Let's try to bring it back to that.

WaPo and NYT report that Yates notified the administration late last month about the possibility that Flynn was not being forthcoming about his communication.

Was it illegal for Flynn to speak to the Russian ambassador?

Didn't the dear leader appoint him to the DIA?

No.

But it was a scumbag move to lie to the press and to the Trump administration about the details of a conversation with a diplomat.

damn you guys are so much fun...these next few months are going to be hilarious to watch as you Trumpkins flop and flounder, then head over the flaming hoop course to defend this abortion of an administration.

So you mean, in other words, what you've been doing since Nov 8?

I feel like this whole thing is just Trump taking pity on those of us who have gotten literally sick of all the winning. Time to dial it back a click.

Trump: the compassionate man.

If true, I can't wait to see Trump loyalists on here throw the dude under the bus after weeks of going to bat for him.

Who's throwing him under the bus? He did something he probably shouldn't have done, and didn't relay all the facts to #2. Before he resigned, i was thinking there was really only 1 way this will work itself out, and that is by resigning.

He screwed up, he knows he screwed up, so he resigned to not further tarnish the President. I still respect the hell out of the man.

Hard to say.

He has shown that he can be merciful, as demonstrated by his treatment of Hillary.

Well Flynn did just get booted out of the administration.

Beyond that, what is there to do?

CNN created the whole "fake news" mantra you fricking idiot. And to insinuate the media has told nothing but the "truth" for the last year and half is such a ridiculous argument.

Um..... just guessing here but Flynn probably wasn't the target of the recordings a

He may not have been target, but it was his recordings that were leaked to the press.

quote:

The FBI in late December reviewed intercepts of communications between the Russian ambassador to the United States and retired Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn — national security adviser to then-President-elect Trump — but has not found any evidence of wrongdoing or illicit ties to the Russian government, U.S. officials said.

The calls were picked up as part of routine electronic surveillance of Russian officials and agents in the United States, which is one of the FBI’s responsibilities, according to the U.S. officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss counterintelligence operations.

They were looking specifically for back channels into the Trump administration.

WP:

quote:

Nonetheless, the fact that communications by a senior member of Trump’s national security team have been under scrutiny points up the challenge facing the intelligence community as it continues its wide-ranging probe of Russian government influence in the U.S. election and whether there was any improper back-channel contacts between Moscow and Trump associates and acquaintances.

So....this sort of is one administration spying on another, and then leaking the details of a call to the press.

And the lady that warned them was subsequently fired, though presumably for something else. I suspect that something else just gave them a more publicly acceptable reason, but that's getting into tin foil hat territory.
