Let me explain to you how these Associations work since you lack a clear understanding. These association put on conferences which are income producing venues for them. If you lose a dozen people or a hundred people then the association will be forced to lay off staff or worse close their doors.

Hence this association in all likelihood will not be back in New Orleans because they need to find a location where their members will feel safe and secure which right now New Orleans doesn't to them so they will skip this city for a long time.

I'm telling you 2019-2020 are going to have major tourist contractions from the conferences/conventions industry in New Orleans due to the crime epidemic.

Would spend $7-800 going to NOLA with hotel, dinner, etc. No big deal but when thousands make same choice maybe things will be noticed

Uncalled for attack. There are plenty of despicable lefties here who are biased and lack compassion. One in particular in this thread.

Oh it's not just for this. Go read some of her post history. The other day she was cheering that teenagers could be locked away for 15 years for sexting one another.

Perhaps New Orleans should offer an open hunting season on thugs.

No bag limit, thugs off of an approved list provided by law enforcement, 100.00 per kill. That should do it.

Of course I'm kidding... kinda.

Gay straight yellow black or white... no one should be victimized like that. Those responsible should be put down.

New Orleans is one of America's most iconic cities and in the early days of our nation it was our most important city.

Agreed, but unfortunately, it's dying a slow death due to decades of Democrat rule and failed policy. Landrieu didn't cause these problems, but he sure does seem incapable of fixing them or even trying. He's like all the other Dems pushing their own special interests at the expense of once great cities.

There is a very real safety concern when deciding upon New Orleans as a host city for a convention or meeting place, and this is not lost on people responsible for other people's safety.

there is no more concern in NOLA than there is anywhere else. so this happens to 2 people, where do the other couple hundred or thousand maybe in that organization want to go?

Hope this video serves as a warning to those thinking of traveling to NO! Sad but necessary! I remember years ago on our first and only visit to NO being warned by friend (native of NO) not to venture beyond a very well defined perimeter which he specifically pointed out to us. 'Don't go past X St. here, Y St. here, etc.' It sounds like things have deteriorated quite badly!

I've been every year or every other year for the past 10 probably. I've never had any trouble or even been scared in the slightest. That's not to say stuff like this doesn't happen, of course, but NOLA is still a fun time.

I think they know but honestly, I don't think they know the ramifications. The bio psychological effects poverty and violence have on the young men is tremendous. They kids look no older than 18? That means they are Katrina babies most likely. Scientist are already showing that Katrina babies are a little bit off the scale.

One of the victims is in critical condition because of a violent criminal and you are going to blame society for these 4 gangsters actions?

So much shame on you. This is real stuff. Get a clue.
