I think he almost has to to be taken seriously.
I think he runs the real risk of further alienating moderates and being shown as the bumbling narcissist he truly is, but he almost has to unless he knows he’s got the delegates locked up. But Paul Manafort ain’t walking through that door (or is he?

His whole campaign has been one massive mistake and he probably will ruin any change he had in 2028 now. He’s been getting terrible political advice

Sent her a year’s supply of Trump Steaks?

He handled the announcement in an absolutely standard way as far as timing.
Running on W's 2000 era playbook, when we aren't even operating in the same stratosphere as a country and electorate at this point, seems to me the biggest part of the problem, for which I find baffling that so many can't see.
Strategically he mirrors Obama in 2008 actually, if you understand political science that is the far closer comparison. Bush was the frontrunner the day he announced in 2000 and never really got pushed, basically coasted to the nomination.
Obama was a slow build who invested heavily in ground game and waited for the frontrunner Hillary to falter and he took her out. After the Summer of '07 Hillary was actually stretching her lead out to around 30 points on Obama and everyone assumed the race was over. I mean Hillary was the chosen one. She had the Clinton legacy. Obama was just an upstart Senator from Illinois that gave a good speech at the '04 Convention. Then the groundwork Obama had laid started paying off and he just chipped away until he broke her.

Breaking: DeSantis Super PAC ordered to CEASE and DESIST in Iowa after they were caught bussing in supporters from out of state.

I was wondering how many elections Candace has won…

Desantis is pathetic
quote:
To Muscatine GOP Chair Daniel Freeman, DeSantis is essentially “lying” by astroturfing the grassroots nature of the Iowa caucuses, which are set to take place in January.
“He is the first presidential candidate that is going out and buying and paying for representation … he's not building a grassroots organization,” Freeman said. “And it could very well be that he uses Never Back Down because he can’t garner state support from individual residents in Iowa. Therein lies the problem. He is misleading the public of Iowa by sending busloads of people to a parade and they don't even live in the area and in fact, most of them don't even live in the state of Iowa.”
Wonder if they were taking 1st class busses like he did for the illegals he sends into the country

Candace Owens is one of the most overrated conservative commentators out there. Her political instincts are unreliable at best.
I appreciate her making a pronouncement about the future. She’s very perspicacious, I’m sure. In 2015, she was celebrating the demise of the Republicans and the Tea Party. And look at her now!!

Not a fan of DeSantis, but she's an ideological chameleon, who made the difficult transition from full-blown SJW thought policewoman to professional conservative Black woman without breaking a sweat or generating a single word of criticism in the media.
