He would rather deal with Dems than his own party.

Seems the vast majority of his party is working with him just fine.

The extremists would rather force a deal with Dems then admit they can't win and are losers

You keep using that word, and it doesn’t make it true, no matter how good it feels to you

So giving dems everything, ok.

Making even one concession to a portion of his own party = bad.

Enjoy your shite sandwich of a government.

That's how almost everyone in the US sees them and they're doubling down on why today

They're rather fake fight and lose than govern with their party.

It seems the DEMs are asking for more reasonable demands

Now I don't think that that means that this scenario would be better for the Republican party than if the extremists would just concede that they have no power but they would rather create sound bites for fundraising and pretend like they're fighting and screw everyone over in the process more

Which demands of the Freedom Caucus are unreasonable? I mean , to say some are unreasonable, i guess you can make a case here or there… maybe.

But requests for investigation? Unreasonable? Laughable

It’s fair to criticize the 20. It’s dishonest to say the 20 are forcing a deal with the Dems. That’s ridiculously backwards.

It is interesting how Dems fall in line. I saw Jimmy Dore interviewed on Glenn Greenwald's show yesterday and it sounds like his falling out with TYT and a lot of the left establishment was because he pushed the Squad to extract concessions in 2020 and they didn't do anything. You can say the Squad is shrewd and knows how to play the game, but they have revealed they are frauds and never really fight the establishment. I kind of respect Gaetz for burning it down.

In 2020, Pelosi was in the same position as McCarthy is now: with a small majority, every Dem member had leverage to extract concessions.

Progressives were too subservient even to honor activists' request: demand a floor vote on Medicare For All that would require Dems to vote.

But imagine this were a progressive cause. Would a faction on the left currently in Congress be willing to brave the negative PR, etc to extract concessions from Dem leadership? Doubtless no.

The factional brinksmanship is not analogous on Dem side -- for better and worse.

McConnell, Ryan et al haven’t actually governed in recent years. Nothing of substance has been done to lower taxes, tighten up the border, reduce the size of government. It is reasonable to expect that McCarthy will simply represent more of the same.

Why not?

If they won't budge/concede, then McCarthy has to come to an agreement with the DEMs.

The problem is you think there is a scenario where Trump's man isn't SOH

Yeah idiots on here who think the extremist wings really ever do this fight are just playing into the theater.
