Seemed very straight forward to me. I just don't see track marks

Screw GW...if he's not willing to back up what it took to keep us safe.
It was Cheney who made the call to SHOOT DOWN that airliner packed with American citizens...IF it became necessary.
Bottom line. Cheney is a git r' done guy...impervious to all the legacy fluff that the Bushs and a lot of sorry-assed and ego-driven politicos exhibit.
This stuff is sausage making. If they can't stand the blood on their precious legacy...they ought not ask for the job. Screw that 'legacy' bull&%%&&!

"Not true. Didn't happen," Cheney responded. "Read his book, he talks about it extensively in his memoirs. He was in fact an integral part of the program, he had to approve it before we went forward with it."
So what he's saying is that Bush didn't hear about this on the news...

Whoops, there goes the premise behind the OP.

They all knew. Hell, we all knew what was going on. Are we to believe that those on specific committees from both parties had no idea of what the CIA was doing at these Black sites?

we will all have the same judgement day one day. I assume that his will be harsher than others

The GOVERNMENT democratic party threw the CIA under the bus! WE ARE A TWO PARTY SYSTEM AND IT DIDN'T MAKE A FULL CIRCLE FOR APPROVAL TO BE RELEASED TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! THIS SHOWS YOU HOW MESSED UP OUR GOVERNMENT IS ON ALL ACCOUNTS!

That's the elephant in the room on this one. Bush is not trying go hide from this, and is "owning" the decisions he made. Can you imagine Obama doing this? 12th of never.

Bob Kerrey (an honorable man, I might add) - has debunked that with the quickness.
Racist, Tea Party Democrat Bob Kerrey quoted in radical right-wing rag, USA Today
The man was a SEAL and holds the CMH - a rarity for a public official, to say the least. The gist of it is - if Congress didn't know, they didn't want to know. And that we shouldn't be throwing poo at our intelligence officers who were doing what we wanted done, period.
How dare these sanctimonious pricks inside the beltway demand results - demand accountability, then blink when the dirty work gets revealed?
How dare they?
If there was criminal wrongdoing, let's prosecute the offenders. But the vast majority of this rough handling of a select number of subjects was completely legal, completely valid and, generally, effective.
I'm through with the handwringing over this partisan, stale, stabbing attempt at retribution by one of my least favorite senators on her way to minority status. She's 80 years old - perhaps it is time for her to enjoy her well-deserved retirement for ~50 years of public service.

I ask again. Is there one liberal on this board, that would not beat the crap out of a terrorist/kidnapper, someone who held the life/lives of their loved ones in their hands in order to find out what it would take to prevent their loved one from being harmed?
Please identify yourself.

Did you watch the interview?
I did. I thought he was giving Bush credit for knowing what was going on in his administration. Unlike Obama who either never got the memo or had to read about in the news.
I never once thought that he was throwing Bush "under the bus".

This question is irrelevant. Either you believe in torture or you believe in the Geneva's Convention. You can believe in one of them, but you can't believe in both of them. Do you believe our government should practice what it preaches, or do you believe it should practice one thing and preach another? No one ever compromises their true moral standards, they only find out what they are.

Geneva convention does not apply to terrorist combatants. Terrorists have no Geneva rights.
Even if they did....from the perspective of the United States, by violating every tenant of international law regarding the treatment of prisoners, terrorist groups would have forfeited any protection under the Geneva Conventions.

A group of people flew planes into a building and killed 3,000 civilians. There was talk of more planned attacks. If the Geneva Convention does not allow the capture and pouring of water on the faces of three people for 30 seconds who may have had information about these future attacks it should.

Do terrorists operate according to the Geneva Convention? Let's say we're going to play a baseball game. You put nine men on the field. The other team says frick it, we're going to use 15.
You still going to play by the rules and really expect to win?

This is what the entire thing is about....GOP starts impeachment talk and the talk about war crimes during the bush years will amp up proportionately. All smoke and mirrors aimed at keeping the Tea Party wing of the GOP in line.

I believe you to be wrong.
The GC main goal is to try and give some guidelines for military combatants and POW's.
I believe in this.
I also believe in aggressive interrogation and in rare rare cases heavily reviewed and signed off on torture.
So too can a government hold both in its hands.

Are you 25? Europe has never "liked" us, save a few years in the 40s, and no one cares about the rest of the countries any ways.
This idea that we were all in a circle holding hands before Bush is just false. Sure, foreigners loved bashing the shite out of him and us, but going from a 2 to a 1 on their love scale isn't exactly shattering news.
While I would agree there was a small window just after 9/11/2001 where the world was actually very friendly to the US....and we shite all over that opportunity. I seriously doubt that it would have lasted long but we never gave it a second thought and that may prove to be a mistake some day....
