Agreed. It's ridiculous at this point that they would rather burn fossil fuels and rely on "green energy" that has a larger physical footprint on the landscape than the former options. They are also underestimating the waste impact of solar cells and wind turbines. In 20 years they'll be a sizable impact on overall waste production.

We need small modular reactors that are meltdown proof that can be mass produced.

And Fukishima wouldn't have happened if they would have stored their emergency generators above grade. The flooding itself had no effect on the plant - only the backup generators.
