Below is your entire post, sport. You’re telling me that was all in agreement with what the other poster said, and you quoted?

The one basic element of conservative thought is limiting govt power over the individual.

You are clearly using a different political dictionary than anyone who has ever looked at a Nolan chart.

We can hardly communicate if we are defining the same word in different and opposite ways. I leave you to enjoy your (inaccurate) set of definitions.

So, you saying that Hoppe can No True Scotsman with the best of them? OK

Hoppe can detail exactly what a libertarian is because he fundamentally understands the basis of libertarianism as designed by his mentor. It's not up for debate.

I'll email HHH and let him know you think his logic is fallacious though. I'm sure he's happy to engage with a pseudo republican fake libertarian who has a total of 6 minutes of reading on the topic.

Guess so. Antonio made some solid points and I respect his opinion. Aggie Hank is a left wing troll masquerading as a never trump GOPer. Nothing interesting there.

Yep, yep, and yep. I find myself agreeing with Antonio Moss often.

Not really. It’s just that many of them are actually worth debating, and having discussions with. Not so with marxist democrats. In 20 years of posting on political message boards, I’ve almost never learned anything of value from a democrat.

Well, that's not really limited to one "side" of center. Each group or whatever you want to call it has their own fringe lunatics.

Stick with me a second. What would happen if libertarians supported republicans to stop democrat spending on abortion, then worked with republicans to reduce their spending on family values? You just achieved 50%-75% of your agenda.

Explain, in detail, what that would look like.

Because I'm fairly certain we're already doing this, but maybe we don't mean that in the same way.

In many ways we are, but libertarian support for republicans makes the constant shite flinging about there being no difference between the parties, and republicans wanting as big and powerful of a federal government as democrats, makes the libertarian involvement a net loss.

Libertarians shite on republicans and conservatives more than they do democrats. Not really the legislators, because most of them know they owe their political careers to republicans, but it’s certainly true of rank and file libertarians, just as we see in this thread.

When libertarians don’t come in on important things, like securing the border, they are hurting their own prospects, and helping democrats. It makes no sense.

I think you're allowing your experience on this board, which is overwhelmingly Republican, to skew your perspective. If we were posting on DU, well we wouldn't be, because we'd get banned in about thirty seconds

This is completely wrong. As Josh pointed out, you're looking at it from a narrow viewpoint.

Well, I’d have to grant that somewhat, to both of you, but this isn’t my only experience with message boards, or libertarians.

Mine either, and in my experience, libertarians give as much shite to the other side when that is available to them.

Making fun of liberals and leftist policy is easy and boring. Much better to poke holes in 'conservatism' because you can at least find a sympathetic and open ear.

Easy, yes. Boring? No, I don't think so.

Then again, I thrive on negative responses, and there's nothing like being called a murdering Nazi because I think my property taxes are too high.

Libertarians don’t want tax money spent on EITHER, because government has NO ROLE in EITHER.

Libertarians don't understand that the government is forced to make moral and ethical rules for it's citizens. The alternative is anarchy. There are so many different shades of libertarians it's impossible to see them as a cohesive group with a cohesive worldview. I would bet if you surveyed most libertarians you would think 25% of their group belongs to Antifa and 25% of their group belongs to the John Birch society.

There are problems with modern conservatism, but coming at it from a small government mindset with a moral foundation is not one of them. It's what our brilliant founding fathers did, and it has served our Republic well.
