That’s some kind of corporate marketing bullshite. Everyone gets old and then dies. Boomers are dying off, gen x is getting old right behind them. Nobody is too young or too old for good food. Fix the shitty food. Make sure your service is friendly and attentive to the customers. The age of the customers won’t matter.
Its simple numbers and this stuff is not hard at all for big data to track. At the current rate at which cracker barrel is losing customers to retirement homes and death they will not survive. They already know that.
The truly insane part is the actions they have taken to do something about it. They could fix their food and service and I still wouldnt touch the stock.

Does big data track how many customers they’ve lost because of shitty food and/or service? There’s no age requirement to be a CB customer.
ETA: Coming from someone (55) who ate at a CB about 6 weeks ago before all this shite started, who told his family that he will never eat there again. The food was inedible. Pretty important thing for a restaurant.

True... their business was falling off because people were saying "You know, I'd go to Cracker Barrel, but I just don't like that old man on the sign... and the decor is SOOO country and tacky. Food's good, but that decor..."
Fix the food and service... leave everything else alone. This ain't rocket surgery.

Here's a couple things for starters

LGBTQ+ Alliance
Supporting Home Office and Field employees to bring their whole selves to work while strengthening Cracker Barrel's relationship to the LGBTQ+ community.

The thing that is happening isn’t really happening.

None of these are "new" missions for CB.
I imagine a large number of companies, at least over the past 4 years or so, more than we care to admit or even want to know about, have pushed and "promoted" these "missions".
Why is CB being singled out and boycotted, while a great number of the same people will carry their fatasses right into a Starbucks and order a coffee?

Cracker Barrel was probably dwindling as it was because younger generations with any wealth are not eating there because its grossly unhealthy. This was a PR stunt for massive attention, negative is still attention, and we will know in a year or two if it works for them. In the meantime we are all stupid peasants for even paying attention to it.
Its akin to modern country music where executives sit around and tell their writers to incorporate more dirt roads, canned beer, and church into their lyrics. People eat that shite up and the executives get rich off of shite music.

No mention of resignations or terminations. Screw em.

So you think we’re gonna run out of old people? You do know there is and will be a good supply of senior citizens for a while.

This store was marketed towards the people who are dying and not the rest
That's the problem

The problem is the brand may be too far gone for this to work.
But this is an effort to try to change the brand.

The particular old people who value CB as a brand? Yes.
CB is not some intergenerational brand. That's why it's been dying the past 5 years or so. Long before this move.

I didn’t read the thread but this original post says nothing about their sign changing back. So they say they value Uncle Herschel yet they are keeping him erased. They are still losing
Posted on 8/25/25 at 8:28 pm to Powerman
I find it interesting that you feel that because a good amount of people do not like the change, is because they were told not to like it?
That’s pretty lame and more than likely inaccurate. However, you like to throw out broad statements that have little accuracy or truth, as way to trigger and get responses. Congrats on your attention.

Uncle Herschel must be back on the sign.
The CEO must be fired or resign.
Those are my terms. Until then, frick them. This statement is just an attempt to polish a turd.

No fake message board lawyer, the mistake made is pissing off your customer base. Yeah, the clientele now is mostly older folks but these older folks have kids and grandkids that know and have supported the brand for years. With that argument, why didn't their base who died in the 90s, the 2000s, and even the 2010s were an issue? This company is gone and has been gone for some time. The company has been woke (hopefully this stupid word can soon be scratched from history) for a great while and the recent stuff with the CEO forefront went public. And lied publicly. I think that she is a well paid tool that has been put in charge of sinking this business. We shall see fake message board lawyer.

They have not, in fact, supported the brand for years.
CB has been falling off a cliff for at least 5 years now, before they went "woke".
They're throwing hail maries to expand the client base. As I said earlier, it probably won't work b/c the brand is so shitty. It's a gimmick store with an unpopular gimmick and and extremely old client base (the generation who still fell for gimmicks).
