We need to be honest and introspective: there is basically zero difference in the behavior of the hardcore DeSantis and Trump people.

Nah, DeSantis supporters are concerned with defeating Biden and actually governing the country with conservative policies. Trump supporters are concerned with frankly idealizing the man as a near godlike figure, the only one who can save us from the deep state globalist. Never mind that he didn’t do it his first term but this time it will be differen(T). And never mind that he is going further and further to the left in trying to attack DeSantis, he’s still infallible.

There’s absolutely a difference between the two, and the fact that you can’t see it speaks all you need to know.

Nah. Desantis supporters are concerned with defeating Trump. It’s obvious from even his own supporters’ threads created to coax others into discussing actual Desantis positions and platform, individually, but almost across the board are the efforts to discuss “the case for Desantis” blown off, and instead more and more obsession and attention devoted to Trump.

I was referring to the general behavior on this forum.

To include: posting dumb stuff someone said 2 years ago, complaining about some ancillary campaign surrogate posting dumb shite on twitter, posting any number of irrelevant and meaningless polls, and generally turning this forum into unreadable garbage on 75% of topics posted.

Both sides have been guilty of this behavior on a massive scale.

Who are the hard corps DeSantis people? We have people saying stuff like “ride or die” when it comes to RD? Or that he’s “earned” their loyalty, or deserves it somehow? There are a couple of people trying to keep up with Jjdoc when it comes to post frequency and general juvenile behavior, but I really don’t think the devotion to the person is there on the RD side. If I think he’s going to have unfettered illegal immigration or put us in Ukraine, I don’t even have to think about switching my potential vote. I doubt I’m alone.

Well-stated.

Yeah, that’s crazy. We should be discussing nicknames or who’s going to get destroyed during a debate with zingers. frick a bunch of policy discussion.

His first term he pushed a bill that included amnesty for millions of illegals. Sure sounds anti globalist to me...

*Cult45 either doesn't know this as they are completely uninformed or just ignore it as they have put him on a pedestal and cannot admit his failings.

I think you're rational enough to admit the Jon Ham, NDIrish, and a few others are posting stuff just as ridiculous and unhinged as JJdoc and CA.

Which is what I am referencing.

I agree with this... but I think a lot of people internalized Trump's win in '16 and the bullshite in '20 to be a personal attack by the government, at large, on themselves. And with the government continuing their insane prosecution of Trump at every level, it only solidifies that mindset of "if I hate the government, I must personally love Trump." That's probably a poor phrasing of the psychology going on, but I get it and I empathize and feel the same way in a general sense. I just don't take it nearly as personally as some others do.

Well, that’s pretty much exactly what’s going on, Cult45.
