McCain killed that bill out of pure spite and selfish vindictiveness. That was essentially the moment when the right turned on him for good. Blaming Trump for being too flexible within his own party makes you sound more unhinged than you already are... if that's even possible.
But maybe if the dems hadn't passed a shite bill, using parliamentary gimmicks, on direct party lines, that ended up being an absolute dud, we wouldn't have had to fix it.

So the shooting of this unarmed protestor was justifiable homicide - but its simultaneously manslaughter because orange man bad? The guy who put holes in her is a hero, but the President she was there to support is her lawful killer?

I for one very easily see why you say these things: because you were overly vulnerable to being soured on Trump and the media exploited that vulnerability and it successfully substituted its talking points for yours. The media expropriated your thought process.
But what I’d be interested in is the origin of your Trump vulnerability in the first place.
