WWE style in your garage with the neighbor hood kids and your classmates does not count. If you know what you are doing against a guy who doesn't you can use leverage and speed(quickness) to your advantage. I've seen guys in the 160 and 170 class handle and even somewhat dominate 220 and even some guys above that weight because they were quicker and more coordinated. Floyd being f'd up would not have been all that hard to put on the ground...shite, he was on the ground and he was wedged by a tire and more importantly CUFFED! There was no need for the knee to remain on the neck. The cops had leverage and most importantly, numbers.

Talking with a black man I work with, he says the officer killed him with the 'pressure on his neck' no question. I asked how they could tell how much pressure was on his neck and how much pressure it takes to choke someone out? I am sure this is influenced by media takes.

Her testimony was damning. EMT on the scene offering aid and cops said "nah".

Was she in uniform on the scene? No. Very convenient she shows up to give her testimony in uniform though. Cops are just not going to let people come out of the crowd, especially a hostile crowd, onto a scene and give aid. Any joe blow can claim he’s a doctor in the crowd then. You’d be opening yourself up to lawsuits, if they are not who they claim to be....

If someone is fricked up on drugs and you are not and you have numbers and skill (training) not only do you have the advantage, you could frick them up withoit breaking much of a sweat. If he was on fentanyl even coupled with amphetimine most trained individuals have a real advantage just by using what my wrestling coach in h.s. called initial overwhelming force. The knee to the neck is a submission hold that is dedigned to hold a person until either they get tapped out in competition or until a cop can get the perp into restraints. They had him in restraints with the cuffs on the ground and in a prone position. They owned him at that point.

I’m just trying to get you to explain why an officer did something stupid, something he had no reasonable explanation for. And you can’t.

I thought I had seen materials that indicated that this is a pretty standard technique and he may have done it by the book. Is that not correct? I haven't really delved into the details of this shitshow.

People that say this, have no basic education in human anatomy. Your cervical spine protects your airway from the rear. In order to asphyxiate someone, you must collapse the airway. Putting direct pressure from the back of the neck, there would have to been something pressing up between him and the sidewalk, with pressure being forced down from behind. The other way, Chauvin would have had to crush his cervical spine....

Complete blood restriction to the brain, requires that BOTH carotid arteries are occluded.

Did the defense even ask her what she planned to do if she were allowed to help? She was off duty. Does she carry an ambu bag everywhere she goes? It's been awhile since I was in on a code, but I don't remember doing chest compressions on someone with a pulse. Emergency medicine is extremely limited without tools and meds.
