I'm not a fan of Desantis but any sort of alimony is bullshite. I don't like feminists and I don't like dopey "stay at home mothers" either. A freeloader is just as bad a feminist.

“You guys are fricking losers but if I marry you and we divorce, I want you to pay me money forever.”

How is maintaining permanent alimony an individual responsibility, pull yourself up by your bootstraps position?
I think OP is a she. The real kind.
So, answer the question, who get the most benefit from alimony?

Is thread going the way you thought it would?

Considering the amount of marriages and divorces he’s had, I’m gonna guess she wouldn’t like Donald’s position on permanent alimony.

Wow, you’ve convinced me, you sound like a sane and rational person with lots to add to a marriage.
Shocked that a man would dump your arse.

She is now yelling at her cats about how terrible men are and how much she hates meatballs.

Wrong. If the father has the child 50% of the time, there shouldn't be child support AT ALL.

She’s now going to vote for Ralph Nader

Getting rid of permanent alimony is two birds with one stone. Murder rates of ex-wives are now bound to go down.

Rough crowd, eh?
... YOu might want to ask Trump his position on the bill. Something tells me he would also sign it... maybe twice.

I’m telling you what. If I ever got remarried, she would have to have grown up on a farm with 4 other siblings, got up and milked cows and fed chickens before school and came home to pick vegetables in the afternoon, or if not America, then from some South American, or Asian community doing the same.
You want to know why marriage is frightening to a whole bunch of people these days? Well, look no further than this. It’s too easy to get in and out of it and who pays the bills for it is almost always if not always the man in the relationship.
Don’t get me wrong. I think healthy marriage is a wonderful and Godly inspired institution, but the pickings today are so poor today that if I were giving advise to anyone it would be to shop wisely and shop again until you are double dog sure before you make the move. It’s not the institution that’s the problem. It’s the people.
