Holy shite, where to begin with you:

First, I didn’t say you said that, I explicitly said “I assume your saying”...otherwise why why would you post a thread at this moment in time on DJT having ultimate authority....and Then you go to pointing out that he does not.....when you know what the discussion has been today on Trump opening it back up with his authority. Don’t play games with what I said baw!

2nd: Curious on what date you knew this all was inevitable...link to a post of yours with date would be great!

3rd: So Is it Trumps job to run each states response? Or is it his job to coordinate the federal response and help states if possible? At the end of the day....whose responsibility is it for each states response?

4th: Glad to see you have knowledge on pandemic outbreaks and how to deal with them....what could the government have “planned better” for instead of being reactionary? ....which wouldn’t this all be reactionary to a virus that broke out and spread at an extremely aggressive rate?

5th: And you still didn’t answer my question on who does have authority to open the federal government?

Thanks, I’ll wait!

Not at all.

Whether people think it's acceptable for them to claim it seemingly depends mainly on who's fan boys they are.

This analysis requires a good bit more contextual awareness than is being exhibited. That includes awareness of each of those referenced Presidents in terms of their terminology and phraseology tendencies. That awareness is not being demonstrated very much throughout this thread.

Not whining- just stating facts- but i can see why that would bother you.

I expect my fellow conservatives on this board will take issue w/ Trump’s declaration but I am curious if the Trump supporters will agree or disagree

I am wondering with a National Emergency declared if this is what he is referencing.

2007 Defense Authorization bill

"President may also deploy troops as a police force during a natural disaster, epidemic, serious public health emergency, terrorist attack, or other condition, when the President determines that the authorities of the state are incapable of maintaining public order."

This situation reminds me of Pres. Lincoln's 10% Reconstruction Plan after the Civil War.

At the point of “opening” up a state because there is no longer a public health emergency...shouldn’t that act not apply?

Also, will the president have to explain how a state is not maintaining public order?

Good grief no.

First, I don't know why you'd insist on complicating this specific matter as much as it appears to be happening, but he did not even say the words "absolute authority"....he said "total authority". But more importantly, it was quite clear that the statement was only in connection with the specific topic on the table at that moment....governor vs Presidential authority and which reigns supreme regarding the subject of "closing and opening" govt.

Which leads to the second point....the President derives his authority and powers from the Constitution, not from what states have authorized him/federal govt to do. Supremacy Clause contained within Article VI of the U.S. Constitution....give it a look.

You’re so full of shite.

But to answer your original question: he has absolute authority to declare this national emergency over. Any state governor who chooses not to comply may do so at his own political peril, because the federal $$$ spigot will be turned off for this particular emergency.

So in this case, the answer is yes. For all intents and purposes, he has absolute authority.

As I mentioned many times, the States have limited ability to impede on ones Rights, those come from the Creator. Once the States start running afoul overreach than it impacts interstate commerce, furthermore the Federal government has the duty to protect Americans wherever they are... whether its Iraqi, Syria, England or Kentucky.

And yes, the President has the authority to bomb the frick out that capital building in Kentucky if it came to that.

DOJ/FBI has many federal criminal statutes to choose from to prosecute governments operating under color of law.

What the frick do you wackos think the Civil War was about?
