Just as you see nothing wrong with threesomes some other person who owns a small business believes there's nothing wrong with deducting their vacation as a business trip and the trip had no bearing on their business......there's morality and ethics, they're a hand and glove fit.

I do think you make a fair point about modern evangelical Christianity's focus on some sin over another. There is usually some good reason for that - as in most gay people in the church aren't typically going to repent and agree to a chaste lifestyle. Whereas an adulterer can more "easily" (for lack of a better term) do so.

Right but at that point they're just making up their own rules and passing it off as right or wrong because Christianity says so, right?

So everything that is considered wrong in the Bible, you live by that creed, right?

Why does my beliefs fester under your skin so much?

If this Country wasn't so f'ing uptight, and minded their own business, and just lived their lives content without judging, or being judged, this would be a lot nicer place to live.

It's ok to frick multiple women so long as you ask God for forgiveness.

It's also ok to do so and don't ask for forgiveness.

ooooor....and just hear me out....some people ignore the fact that the bible is self-admittedly a collection of stories told by a number of people(some of them 2nd-hand) is meant to follow as a guild and not an absolute.
In which case, it's just a set of stories that are likely ranging from not entirely true to not true at all, so there are no wrongs or rights to be derived from the Bible.

I think it was more of a twosome with someone watching.

I wouldn't say that, but I do think they're being un-Biblically selective.

Careful, stoning adulterous women is also called for in the Bible.

And eating shellfish on Sundays or some shite like that.

I'm just trying to understand why people can have such strong views because the Bible says so but those same people pick and choose which parts of the Bible they strongly believe and which parts they ignore.

Where's the logic in that?

Which is a huge problem with churches in this country today.

So? A lot of people don’t find that to be a moral problem at all.

Some people don't find rape and murder to be a problem either, what's your point?

We used to rely on things like shame to make sure people took responsible action. We no longer do that.

Are they wrong in terms of moral arrangements between consenting adults? No.

Are they against most Christian teaching? Yes.

Should we normalize threesomes and make them equal to monogamous marriage and other preferred cultural arrangements like consenting, monogamous relationships? No.

bullshite. Most of us down here are “live and let live” type thinkers. I personally don’t give a shite what anyone does as long as it isn’t negatively impacting me and mine. Once it crosses over to causing me grief, all bets are off.

ETA: Hypocrites piss me off. I’m not offended or upset that the televangelist has a pool boy fricking his wife...couldn’t care less about that. I dislike him because he obviously lives by “do what I say and not what I do”. frick that guy.

Dang, you already know you boxed yourself in, but still roll with it? That's a super weird thing to say.

You already asked that, I already answered. Are you ok? You seem to have a fundamental breakdown on understanding something as simple as how a message boards works where someone posts their thoughts, then another person does the same, and so on and so forth. I'm not sure why that is such a difficult concept for you to grasp?

Yes. It's considered adultery.

But it's not illegal. Know of anyone who has ever gone to jail for adultery? Me either. Kinda doesn't make sense then if the spouse is caught committing adultery they basically can still get half of everything - for something they didn't even get jail time for. So why is adultery considered such a bad thing in the eyes of the law?

100%, people not minding their own business on things that aren't adversely affecting anyone is a HUGE reason why we have many issues nowadays.

Exactly. Why is your moral line in the sand any better than theirs? Why is is any better than Fallwell’s?
