I’m sure the middle class in this country will be thrilled to know the economy is doing so well despite their current reality telling them otherwise.

The riots proved that coronavirus is over. Why wouldn't the stock market love that. Also, the glass companies, fire remediation and construction companies are set for their biggest quarters ever. It's also not a bad time to be in the pepper spray business.
The stock market is forward looking but wait til those quarterly earnings roll in and we still don't know how many of those lost jobs come back soon. And for all those companies gaining from destruction, there is an equal or greater loss for those affected.

Because the markets realize the overreaction is just that: an overreaction

Do you have any idea what quantitative easing is? That the fed is buying junk bond ETFs? what their balance sheet looks like?

Do you have any idea how much I don't care now that I got my money back and can prevent myself from crashing again?
There is NOTHING you can do about it because NOBODY who plans to be in office past the next election is going to say anything about it. Enjoy being smart on the internet because that is all you are doing.

isn't that all any of us are doing? lol. the point i'm trying to make is this isn't something to genuinely celebrate because A. main street is still in trouble and B. long term we are going to lose buying power. it's kicking the can. it's wrong to politicize market gains/losses when they aren't tied to politics.

Look at the creation of all the new jobs. Time to clean up and rebuild. Sad thing is none of the rioters is qualified to rebuild what tey destroyed. The rats and roaches come out at night and the good people clean up the mess they made when the wake up the next morning.

We have an opportunity to live the broken window parable.

Good thing those yellow arrows are there. Wouldn't know which way the trends were going otherwise.

I'm certainly not surprised about this. The drop had to do with the international reaction to Covid. The U.S. has never been in a disadvantaged position compared to the rest of the world, which was also shut in. This rally will continue for at least a year as the rest of the world comes back online.

You are arguing with people that think the Dow is the economy. You are making too much sense to be taken seriously. Welcome to the poliboard.

the funny thing is i'm not trying to argue. i'm trying to educate. but everything gets taken as if it's an affront to MAGA.
the financial system is not political. it is a self-serving mechanism that is rapidly morphing into a federal utility.
