I think the private sector is a little different than the federal government. In the private sector there will be an owner or a board that has a vested interest in the productivity and efficiency of their people. If they can monitor that and the employee is sufficiently productive then there’s no harm. In the government there’s nobody in the vicinity with a vested interest in their productivity.
