No one is talking about rebuilding the European navies. The war in Ukraine is a ground and air war.
Regardless that wasn’t the point of my original post anyways. Europe can send in peacekeepers or not, I don’t care. If the want to spend their money on American weapons that’s great.
If they can’t help defend Ukraine or can’t afford our guns, again, I don’t give a frick. It’s their continent and their decision.

I guarantee they want a peace deal and an end to the war.
Well duh. That is always the case, in any war, ever.

I was talking about the USN. But the Europeans should be just as concerned with their own Navies as we should be with ours.

Precisely so because of Russian naval hegemony in the Black Sea.

They united against Trump to sink the peace deal.
Congrats. Did they bother to think about what’s next? Because it’s not good for Ukraine or anyone supporting them.
It’s almost like they forgot how war works. If you want that Ukraine land back, you have to take it.
Who is going to provide an army? Ukraine can’t do it. Russia won’t give it back.

Based on everything that has transpired, it does not seem beneficial for the US to align publicly with either Europe or Russia at this point. There are obviously still military bases operating in Europe and shared intelligence with European countries, and at the same time there seems to be this large contingent of (sometimes fake) public outcry and publicity stunts to create political points with the hopes the US might commit financially or even be militarily drawn in to either side. Desperate hopes for backing could lead to more desperate measures, would could put the US itself at risk by either party.
I am not so sure it wouldn't be a bad to idea to hand select, if even possible, trust worthy people to conduct intelligence completely independent of both the internal and external mess this situation has created.
The propaganda machine seems to desperately want to continue this highly draining conflict.
