That's legitimate, but in the particulars of this case, Chauvin was guilty of at least manslaughter. 2nd degree murder was a stretch. But it is just that Chauvin goes to jail. He killed a man and did not have to and whether it was a mistake or not is irrelevent. He did not have to have his knee on his neck after cuffing him and placing in a prone position....he just did not.
