Me bringing up a Rick Beato topic on the Music board where someone on the first page prompted me to do a deeper dive on Steely Dan
One of my favorite all time albums is Donald Fagan’s The Nightfly.
It ends up the hardened cynic who sung about habitual gamblers, quickie Caribbean divorces, bankrupted financial speculators, gurus hawking enlightenment like a commodity, existential-minded jazz man, doomed May-December romances, etc… was simply a disillusioned romantic at heart.

I think the fact that 2 strangers would rather have a side discussion about music is pretty telling of what we think of some of these people.

You conflating criticism of Israel with antisemitism is either downright stupidity or dishonesty. Neither are admirable traits.

Not conflating anything. If you spend as much time as you do crying about Israel, yes it makes you an antisemite. embrace it. Quit pretending you aren't. It is almost as bad as SFP claiming he isn't liberal.

Israel has nothing to do with antisemitism. Israel is a foreign nation state. Nothing more and nothing less.

Which podcaster has you so hell bent over Israel?

Israel isn't all bad. I do find it odd that it's perfectly ok to criticize our own government (or any other foreign government)but you all get your panties in a bunch if someone criticizes the government of Israel. You don't find that to be odd at all?
I know you don't have much depth to you but you might want to start asking the simplest of questions. I don't listen to any anti Israel podcasts.

I just enjoy the opportunity to discuss Steely Dan with a fellow Danfan wherever it might occur. Here is some interesting Dan trivia: the cover to 1976’s Royal Scam was originally commissioned for an unreleased Van Morrison album tentatively titled Mechanical Bliss.
Many of the songs from Van Morrison’s mid-1970s sessions for this album were officially released on The Philosopher’s Stone, Morrison’s 1998 double-CD compilation of rarities and outtakes. I suppose it is a testament to the consistent quality of Van Morrison’s oeuvre that his castaways rank with the best songs of that era.
This includes the great “Naked in the Jungle”, a highlight of many Morrison bootlegged sets from that era. The song definitely has a Steely Dan jazzy/funk vibe:
