I’m no financial genius, but seems to me you need to be able to track and prove where the money comes from, where it goes, and what pot it belongs to.

Texas State University, which I believe is an HBCU.
So it is probably comparable to Southern or Grambling.
Edit - that was his undergrad, he went to John Marshall Law School in Atlanta for his JD.

I used to get invoices for outside counsel to go through. They NEVER had a date completed and a total number of hours. They had every date they worked in that case, who worked it, their hourly rate, and the total for that particular task.
I can’t imagine anyone reviewing that invoice, seeing task completed date and just an hour total with total dollars billed.
My boss would have laughed me out of her office for trying to process that invoice for payment. Then we would have had a very different conversation about my lack of attention to detail.
