I always knew she was a lib, but I honestly thought she was just one of those lip service types who liked to fit in. One would assume once you have kids, especially boys, and you are living near other more Christian/conservative minded individuals in the suburbs that you drift a little bit away from the crazy left. Apparently between Covid/Floyd/Trump, it all did a number on her.
But even beyond the politics of it, to have to subject your husband to that is cruel and unusual, and also for the sons. My buddy is a genuine good guy, and I’m sure having that flag up is killing his soul. I’ll talk to him about it in due time in the appropriate situation, and see what the whole story is. My guess is there was a struggle involved at some point about it, and she won out, and he decided to just keep the peace. Sucks
