I was watching an old show, the original law and order and they said the victim was shot with double "aweght" buckshot. They said it twice and I was puzzled til I realized they were pronouncing aught phonetically. Apparently the producers, directors, nor any of the actors knew the colloquial expression for double 0 buckshot.

Cad,
I am by no means an expert, but you reminded me of an old boss from many years ago who was an antique gun enthusiast. He said he admired Clint Eastwood because he used a Navy Colt which would be available during the time period of his movies, however you would frequently see actors using a Colt 45 during the war between the states...... it wasnt even invented til years later

Every room of the house is a shotgun loaded with 00 - 4 shot. Everyone of us know how to lock and load. Even the Dobe knows how to bring one if needed!!

Colloquial expression for double 0 buckshot?
It’s an english word that means “zero”.
I actually prefer #1 buckshot for home defense.
