a mindless drone who thinks the CEO cares about the people that make him money.
I work for a fortune 100.
Why would I obsess over the CEO?
He is about 8 rungs above my pay grade.
I never think of him.
The managers 2 and 3 rungs above me are so much more important to my daily work.
You are bonkers.

Stockholders for some reason refuse to really push the issue with mediocre CEOs lately, and you can argue the people tasked with making sure SH are informed (Board of Directors) tend to be friends with said CEOs.
This is because of large investing groups like Blackrock.

I don't obsess about my CEO. I'm merely pointing out the fact that the idea that these CEO's are some noble, altruistic group of people who care about their employees is patently absurd. There's a reason why most people don't stay at companies for decades like they used to.

Why the frick do you care?
Do you like your comp?
Do you like your work?
If not, quit. Yesterday.

I just had my 16th anniversary with the firm.

A good CEO will care.
But he/she has to care about the firm more. It literally is his/her job to steer the ship. Ender's Game.

Why would I be desperate?
I like my job.
I don't bitch about it like a girl.
I don't try to convince other people to change their opinions on the matter.
I give worldly advice.
If you hate your job, quit.

Funny, you never hear them talk about millionaire athletes or artists who make untold fortunes playing games or doing lip synced karaoke
I’ve seen people complain about athletes a lot. Not so much about other people like musicians or actors or certain politicians

You think they care because they send out a "Letter from the CEO" email every quarter? Lulz.
Had a CEO that started sending out emails about his personal life showing that he gave his daughter a brand new Land Rover for her sweet 16 party right after everyone was told there wouldn't be COL raises that year. Nothing says "I care" like that!
Some of you people live in a fantasy world. I bet you think that stripper really likes you too

You've got some serious issues projecting whatever is ranting along in your head to the world.
I'm sure your CEO is an a-hole.
Why haven't you quit yet?
On principle alone.

I'm sure your CEO appreciated your gift you bought him this year

I work for a fortune 100.
I will never meet the ceo.
Nor do I care to.
I don't ever think of him. Or the previous 2 CEOs.
I can bitch about the head of our business unit if that makes you feel better. But he is still 3 rungs away from the CEO. He doesn't have the same comp nor the same responsibilities (running a global company).

So exploitation is voluntary.
You and I agree.

funny anecdotal story along the same lines of what y’all are talking about.
We have a middle of the road employee who’s sort of more into the social aspects (parties, clubs, AMAs, townhalls, etc) than actually producing in his role. We all know the type. A while back he somehow weaseled his way into a “Coffee w/ our CEO”. He took a bunch of pictures and posted one in the organization’s Zoom channel. It was a selfie of him smiling excitedly with said CEO about 10ft away in the background with his back turned talking to someone else. This was something he was proud of as if being in the same room with the CEO was some type of major career accomplishment for him.
One of the more pathetic things i’ve witnessed in the corporate world. Ol boy is made fun of mercilessly behind his back for the picture.

People that don’t have the talent, desire, ability or social skills to climb the corporate ladder get angry when others do and make substantially more money. It’s always been that way.
Want to make more money? Take on more responsibility.
