Trump was pretty clear saying this wouldn’t be done militarily by the US.

Who is going to move 2 million people out of there?

How are they taking it seriously? All sides involved would love to see the US do this and further dig themselves into a hole and become more entangled (and vulnerable) in the ME.

None of those nations want to deal with the Palestinian people. It’s more likely that trying to disperse these people throughout the surrounding Arab nations will create an Arab coalition against it and against Israel.

As far as removing UXO and rebuilding Gaza? That’s an Israeli dream. They want the Palestinians gone and to take it over fully.

What does the U.S. gain by taking over Gaza? U.S. foreign policy under Trump was able to build a strong anti-Iran coalition in the Arab states. Now we’re talking about moving the allies of the Iranians who have been subjected to Iranian proxy rule/propaganda into their nations in some kind of resettlement effort. It won’t happen.

None of this will happen. It’s just idiotic through and through. The more Trump tries to push it the more he pushes the Arabs back to seeing Israel as their main enemy instead of Iran.

A. The notion that all Palestinians want to be in Gaza, is a farce. They stay because the surrounding countries don’t want them. They have nowhere to go. If Trump is able to force Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, etc to open up for Palestinians, a huge number will leave on their own. Which is obviously the plan.

B. IF we do have to work militarily, to do so, you think the surrounding countries want that? The second Trump says he’s deploying troops to relocate people the ME will suddenly have their own plan and process. In which case, Trump gets a win.

I could be wrong, but everyone crying about this apparently wants the status quo to continue????? As if that’s a better solution. Death, poverty, terrorism for 100 years and people are mad at a different strategy.. unreal, insufferable.

I personally don't know enough about the situation here.

Exactly, it’s like a purity test for TDS. Anyone who thinks it is a good idea for him to say this or consider this obviously has TDS and will agree with anything Trump says.

Although it was pretty predictable, we all know Trump would LOVE to grift our money and sacrifice our military lives to create TrumpGazaLand. Profits over People

Everyone said the same thing about the Abraham accords. You’re mad at Trump for not toeing the party line that led to 100 years of abject chaos? Interesting… almost like you want continuous war death and terrorsim in the region

Thanks, Tide.

It seems like Trump is shooting for a Pax Romana...peace through the unchecked power of our superior military.

Uncharted territory in recent history. This would just thumb our nose at international law. That USED to be a no-go for me....

It amazes me that people have so much denialism that they try to ignore the fact that Gaza committed and act of war against Israel and lost the war. Israel has rights to Gaza territory by conquest.

This is the only answer. NONE of us do. I have yet to hear a single Gazan interviewed about this.

Could there be an honest referendum among the people of Gaza?

No, they’re too busy hiding hostages.

Wrong. I voted for him for two reasons. Control the southern border and keep us out of pointless corporate wars. So far, so good on point one. Well point two, we'll see. Right now, he's saying the wrong things and he can only be judged by his words.

I don't want to hear any bullshite about the Palestinians and their big, beautiful new land anymore than I want to hear about how Mexico is gonna pay for that big, beautiful new wall.

It really is crazy. Israel was there for a thousand years, gets conquered by Rome—ok fair enough. It’s Rome now. The land gets conquered by the Arabs—ok fair enough, it’s the Arabs’ now.

Israel takes it back and everyone is clutching their pearls. War and conquest are political actions and have real consequences.

If you think Trump is going to create a hot war with US troops involved over there, then I can’t help you.

The Abraham accords were easy. Both Israel and Saudi Arabia have a bigger fish to fry in Iran.

Threatening to move hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees throughout the Arab states is not going to end well. It could fracture everything Trump already worked towards.

About 40-50% of Gazans want to emigrate out but they still feel a strong sense of pride in their homelands and culture. They don’t want the U.S. coming in and taking Gaza and won’t stand for it. It’s actually counterintuitive to the point. While they want to leave, they want to do it on their own terms and keep their homeland under Palestinian control. None of the surrounding states want or can take them in, either.

Europe will end up being the destination if the U.S. with Israel end up trying to move on this.

It's mental gymnastics on a level that is nothing short of denialism. So many Americans will argue that someone else was in Israel first, so territory by right of conquest is somehow off the table.

Meanwhile, those same people live in North America. A land we took by conquest.
