Are we still vetting the absolute hell out of these people? I hope so.
Not a big fan of this.

We don't need business investments, we need maids, roofers and gang members. Says every Dem in DC

What a great message - don't be an American and assimilate, just purchase your citizenship. I wonder if those people will bring their cultures and beliefs here and just assume that the rest of us will cater to them. We are rolling out the red carpet for them after they stroke a check, after all. Hmmm, let's see - write a check and be a citizen or have to deal with a long process and assimilate. I wonder which one leads you to value America more? Anyone here place a lot of value in things that come super easy?
I'm quite sure some here will create a false choice - 'well it's better than coming across the border, which do you want you commie bastard' - neither one is good for our country and we don't have to endorse either circumstance.
How long before the first of these individuals joins a private equity group that tosses Americans out of their homes so they can build a golf resort or their own billionaire utopia vacation paradise? Maybe they'll completely buy up Jackson Hole, Wyoming and get rid of all the remaining American middle class there.

Your huddled masses, longing to enter the country legally

I know Egypt is doing it to help fund the building of its new capital "New Cairo". A $500k real-estate investment in the new capital will buy you and your family citizenship.

Sounds like a Wyoming problem to me. Keep crying not-POTUS.

Yup it's actually quite common.
That's OK I was born with the best citizenship ever.

Uncle Sam says, "You can keep your poor, tired, and ugly. Send me your very rich and a lot of hot babes."

LOL. Keep up with that mantra. But honestly, it doesn’t make any more sense now than it did a few weeks ago.

Anyone have a real source that isn’t a social media post?
I googled Radar Archie and apparently he’s an aviation expert? With insider knowledge about visas?

The Gold Card Visa doesn't exist yet. Are these pre-sales of a working proposal??

quote:As of today, yes (actually less than 3%). I read on here all the time how we add another trilly every 90 days or whatever. So IF we got crazily lucky and sold 200K of them, we'd pay for the next 90 days of new debt!!!!
$1,000,000,000 is 1/36th of the national debt
quote:Well, the last $10T or so was made up of MASSIVE dents like CAREs Act.
What a stupid fricking idea, how much of the $36T was made up of "nondents"?
quote:
I thought you assholes were keen on "taxing the rich"?
Weird non sequitur, bro.
quote:This is at least a fair question. Sure, it will be some non-zero amount.
How much lifetime taxes do you think they would end up paying?
quote:
Why do you think the people paying it would ever stop coming?
How many people able to write $5M checks do you think are just floating around globally AND that want American citizenship?
I like the idea of the gold passports. I'm just not kidding myself as to their net impact. Ditto DOGE.
For me, both of these are cultural movements, not really economic ones. I want people to be excited to come here and start businesse. I want people to realize the gravy train of the federal job teat is drying up.
But i have no illusions whatsoever about the severity of the debt situation. Doing a bunch of fun stuff that saves pennies is great and all - but it's not even the start of an actual solution.

The utter stupidity of this nonsensical post is astounding.
Congrats.
Congrats.

LOL. Keep up with that mantra. But honestly, it doesn’t make any more sense now than it did a few weeks ago.
My example is a perfectly rational one: IF we got to 200K (which we likely won't) that would constantly ONLY A TRILLION. Yes, ONLY A TRILLION.

I'm not really anti-immigration but you gotta admit someone willing to fork over 5m to be here may be useful.

I get where you're coming from but if someone is going to pay 5m to be here and does things that creates more economic activity then I'm not going to quibble too much over it.
Definitely agree that we need to be watchful of the elites strip mining this country and leaving us with a husk. I don't trust anybody with too much money or power. There is always an original sin, so to speak, that got them there. I'd venture to say everyone with billions either did something crooked in varying degrees to get there or one of their ancestors did.
