he were serious about this issue, he'd have waited until after the midterms when the GOP has the power to at least bring this to a vote

sometimes a party makes public its intentions so as to get people to vote for them to be elected so they can do the idea. and Marco says he's for it. not only Graham.

in the current situation many on td fear that people will turn out to oppose the plan.

so TD suggests its done to undermine the party.

reminds exactly of trump announcing 2024. the Fox woman begs him to wait until after 2022.
however The cat is out of the bag. trump said he's running even if he's indicted. he's running.

That was the whole point of overturning Roe.

no shite. This is dumb on many levels...

- If SCOTUS said states regulate it, then why fricking come right behind them and try to re-federalize it.

- He knows it is doomed to failure.

- he made deals on 20 weeks and then tries to bring something other than that to a vote, guaranteeing failure.

- Obviously the timing and material content is gives the other side a butt load of political ammo. He just took every argument about inflation, the dollar, china, deficit, overreach, etc. out of his supposed allies hands.

... so dumb it has to be intentional. The people of SC were not clamoring for this.

If you keep voting for SoCons, this is what happens. They truly do not care about undermining the 2022 and 2024 elections.

I can legitimately guess only one thing - Donors.

Close races need money.

Other than that I'm at a loss other than dumbassery (which neither Graham or Rubio are) or just simply intentional where they've fooled themselves into believing this is what most voters want and it would "make a bigger tent"... but that takes me right back to dumbassery. Because no one with a modicum of political intuition would believe that.

Whatever your opinion on abortion, once again nationalizing this issue is a gift to the bipartisan Washington ruling class at the expense of state’s rights.

I totally disagree. If you truly believe that abortion is murder how can you be okay living in a society that allows it?

Graham doesn't have a belief in his body other than "get reelected."

By being practical, honestly.

I believe it is murder, 100%. But I also recognize that in the current climate we're not going to get an outright ban. So my focus is on incrementalism and small victories and doing whatever we can to reduce unwanted pregnancies and promote adoption.

Why?

So dems and anti trumpers think since this is at the moment on the states it should become a national law.

The ban. This goes from one extreme for them to the other. What a waste of resources.

Lindsay Graham is a jerk. Why does he keep getting elected? It would be a badge of dishonor to actually admit voting for this goofball.

the fact 80 house republicans introduced this bill too says Graham's trying to snag vp. he's nowhere near alone on it.

Yes, let's go back to the Republican strategy of the 90s of trying to hit every voter over the head with a bible. Because it worked so well back then. While you are at it why not propose the Attorney General start a war on pornography too?

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Those who do not learn from political history are doomed to become Republicans.

If you’re insinuating that he is attempting to undermine the Republican chances by energizing votes against them, in coordination with elements of the left, then that clearly indicates that the left themselves believe sheer numbers of votes will be key to the election. Thereby diminishing the beliefs that votes don’t matter, that it’s “artificially” determined despite how many people vote for whom.

I don't want to force my beliefs on Boston any more than I don't want their beliefs imposed on me, me being typical Southern conservatives. Certainly Graham gets this. Does he really want to enforce this in Boston and Portland? Is he that stupid, thinking he can enforce the unenforceable in addition to reducing his party's chance for success in November? Why can't States be politically diverse in this country so people can vote with their feet.

Yeah the democrats are. The republicans are supposed to be for less government. Obviously you don't see that, so you are all over it. Explain like I am 5 how this is less government.

Other than to tank the elections
