If this happens, there will be many more deaths from suicide and spousal killings than there ever would be due to the virus. Additionally, starvation will kill you just as dead as a virus.

And the lockdown worked better than anticipated.

There’s simply no way to know that.

The predictions were for the social distancing over one year would halve the deaths. We’ve been social distancing for 2-3 weeks and we’ve cut it by a factor of 70? That’s not defensible.

This is what dumbasses who want to sound smart say when shooting down suggestions for actual solutions they disagree with.

Are you telling me that if we open up businesses, that people wouldn’t take precautions for their own health?

Meaning. If you know you’re (a) old; or (b) have some kind of pre existing condition that makes you susceptible- that you wouldn’t voluntarily take precautions like isolating, wearing a mask, washing your hands, and maintaining a 6ft distance?

If you wouldn’t voluntarily do so bc you might die if you don’t, well - no fricking law or tyrant from the Midwest who kind of looks like that chick in the weird makeup from the Hunger Games who thinks seeds give you Corona Virus bc she says so, is going to be able to make you comply.

Leftists are idiots. They are sheep who cannot think for themselves and believe the only way we can be safe is if Big Brother tells us what to do and tracks our movement on our cell phones bc well: “there is no perfect solution.”

Maybe not. But economic suicide is not ANY kind of fricking solution.

Well the fact that the right side of the virus has Trump on its team but I see no media or left leaning political figure on the left side of the virus team tells me all I need to know about the message of these meme.

Add to that there multiple standards by different groups.

A lot of infectious disease experts wanted social restrictions to stop the initial surge and get to manageable case loads. Those time table were shorter than 6 months.

The left and their MSP have pushed this as a binary choice issue: everybody takes protective measures, or nobody does. It isn’t a binary issue.

Protect the most vulnerable and otherwise let life go on. Build herd immunity while sheltering those who probably won’t be able to fight the illness. This has been the common sense choice from the beginning.

Working in a hospital setting all my life and receive lots of questions daily from nursing staff. Not sure why nurses are considered experts in this topic and included in this meme.

All due respect to all the hardworking nurses that play a critical role. Outside of Infection Prevention Nurses the majority are not experts in this aspect of medicine.

There is some truth to that meme.

Isolation is the only way to stop the the virus Isolation is crashing the economy, which also impacts everyone on a much more immediate timeline.

How do political leaders balance the economic impact versus the medical/safety impact? That struggle is very real and what this meme attempts to communicate

There is no perfect solution.

The problem is in trying to depict who’s protecting “the population.”

Yeah. I’m not a businessman, Trump, or preacher listed on the right side pushing. But that’s where I’d be right along with them.
