That’s why I said not exactly and that it’s complicated. Plus, the precise intent of what poster meant by “Israel” is technically undetermined at this particular time. Hey, perhaps he meant Israel in the Biblical sense. Ya just never know.

Well why would you make such a general statement like Israel only being in existence since 1948 when that clearly leaves you open to that statement being completely wrong? If you weren’t being quite so eager to be a hall monitor and correct someone maybe you’d not have spouted out what was a stupid comment (using your term of art)?

My statement wasn’t wrong. It was 100% correct. His statement was wrong. That’s why I corrected it. How was my statement stupid? Please educate me.

It does appear as if I need to submit a correction of my own remarks. “Wrong” goes too far, I overstated it. That’s on me, my apologies. What is more accurate to say is while technically your statement wasn’t wrong per se, neither was it fully “right”. The only reason why that observation is relevant here in this instance is because it just seems one would have all bases covered before openly seeking to correct another person. Don’t feel bad, I just did it too.
Long story short, your criticism simply needed qualification of Israel in the Biblical sense indeed being much older than 1948. Beyond that is getting way off into the weeds.
