I don't think he does.

I think the first thing we need to do is take out Kim Jung Un, one way or another.

I would like to agree, but world leaders seem to balk at the potentialities of global politics by assassination. It hasn't panned out so well in Iraq, Libya, certain South American countries and others.

These people are bat shite crazy, I wouldn't just assume this. I don't trust NK, as stupid as it would be for them to try to nuke us, it wouldn't be surprising whatsoever.

Good afternoon. I am pleased that the United States and North Korea yesterday reached agreement on the text of a framework document on North Korea's nuclear program. This agreement will help to achieve a longstanding and vital American objective: an end to the threat of nuclear proliferation on the Korean Peninsula.
This agreement is good for the United States, good for our allies, and good for the safety of the entire world. It reduces the danger of the threat of nuclear spreading in the region. It's a crucial step toward drawing North Korea into the global community.

~ Bill Clinton 10/18/94

Thanks Bubba

The point of no return was crossed when they went nuclear. The Kim dynasty isn't interested in territorial expansion or Korean unification anywhere near as much as they are simply holding onto power. All of their strategic efforts revolve around that. Their goal is to make a war with them so costly in human lives that it wouldn't be worth it for anyone involved.

It'll be a thorn in everyone's side for a very long time unless the military overthrows the Kim dynasty. They won't do that though unless their lives and families can be guaranteed. Doing so would require direct communications with the individuals on the ground there and that's pretty much impossible with NK being the hermit kingdom.

It's hard to say what will happen in the near future but it isn't in anyone's best interest to start a war. It's more likely that the international community welcomes NK to the table than it is that there is an external effort to try to overthrow Kim. MAD is still the best policy that we all have and there's not much else we can do.

It didn't go far because it was shot almost straight up. The U. S. thinks it could have reached Alaska with the right trajectory.

Exactly, the thing to watch is the time in the air and that was around 40 minutes. The conclusion is that this ICBM went between 6,500-7,000 kms. This is a major achievement for NK and shows the seriousness in which we have to take this issue. Ultimately the presidents job is to protect the American people but it's hard to do that at the expense of the South Koreans.

If NK developes nuclear weapons then they will blackmail the world by basically threatening nuclear war and holding millions of lives ransom every day. That's an unacceptable position to be in if you're SK, Japan, China, Russia or the US.

Keep in mind that without our trade the Chinese economy goes down and Russia's even moreso. The tree may be a lot os posturing and hell raising, but the big three aRe not going to get into a direct military possum contest with each other as it is one big cHess and poker game between them. All three know there can't be a winner, so they just try to maintain a stalemate. To do otherwise risks taking all three of us down.

This is serious. Setting off ICBMs is the straw that broke the camel's back.

It's time the international community acts and the military option must remain on the table

Whatever happened to South Korea's sunshine policy with the North, where mutual cooperation was the order of the day? Could this again be on the table?
