Welcome. Great points that I share almost entirely. And also similar to some acquaintances that were also formerly Dem, Dem-leaning, or “blue dog” dem.

This is great, these transformations and the new awareness.
Because usually it takes a traumatic mugging, armed robbery or home invasion to coax the change. But to so many committed doctrinaire Leftists, sometimes it's still not enough.
Our own Leftist media example here locally - Scoot - got mugged by a group of the same type he's pandered to and made excuses for over the years, but it didn't take.
He's still "pandering for peace." As he continues to naively believe it will bring him.
Many are irretrievable.

I think you misunderstood. I've been solidly conservative since the mid 90s. I'm not a new convert. I was just young and gullible, then grew out of it years ago.
