I never have any trouble with some dipshit he/she not tightening the oil plug the first time and not being able to figure out which one of the two things he/she touched might still be leaking if I bring it back.
The oil plug wasn’t tightened enough, and the guy who does 30 oil changes a day at the Speedy Lube couldn’t identify this problem? Couldn’t see oil emanating from the oil plug area? Not likely.
I don’t buy this whole story.

$36 to tighten the oil plug? Why wasn't that the first thing you checked. That comes out to something like $700 an hour for labor.

It's exactly what happened. It may have been intentional. I went to the mechanic thinking the drain plug was probably cross-threaded. He said it was not cross-threaded and I was lucky it did not come out. After I had the problem, I looked at that jiffy lube's reviews and I was not the only one that has had this problem with them.

That is the minimum charge for the mechanic. Covers them putting the car on the lift. I wanted to make sure the plug was not cross-threaded.
