I'm still holding out hope that drug combination discussed last week will work well enough to let everyone believe that we can get on with life.

The only thing that stops viruses is straight up sterilization of everything OR you build up immunity. It may have been more beneficial for the population to build up herd immunity as there is not vaccine, but you also have to develop a vaccine and antibody treatments. That’s how you stop it. Destroying our economy simply slows the spread

Normally rational human beings are being turned into fear mongers over this manufactured crisis that the media helped create and drive.

The problem with "you people" is that no matter what happens you will say they blew it.
If they do nothing and the virus goes away, you'll say "I told you so"
If they quarantine everyone and the virus just goes away, "it was all a worldwide conspiracy to get Trump out of office"
If they do nothing and a lot of people die "wow why didn't they do something about this with all of their resources and information that the public doesn't have"
Nobody on this board has a clue what's going on but everyone should feel free to continue pretending to be medical and political experts.
