This guy seems like a well manufactured troll to give progressives exactly what they wanted just to show them how stupid it is.

Yeah, that’s what he thinks must be done. And he’s verbalizing the pain and pointing towards where he needs to get the money.

Every single politician in the U.S. needs to do the exact same thing. Any time the want taxpayer money paying for something.

To show how silly this all is, a guy I know had a $2m condo downtown. The taxes were so egregious that he walked away from it for something like $700 just to get out. It was worth a $1.3m loss to get away from the tax structure there...

Was this property taxes or his business there? I have had a few clients that live in New York City that just lived in Boca Raton with their parents for 183 days a year. As far as I know, that is basically the MO of anyone making a lot of money up north. It is pretty easy to put your toes all the way up to the line as long as you don't have to physically be in NYC most of the year.

Basically, they are telling their supporters that they are incapable of succeeding on their own, so they should take what belongs to someone else.

Such a loser mentality.

No. Post about other people posting.

wtf?

I have never had the urge to whine about another thread on a particular topic.

Life is great, eh?

Not totally sure. He was self made at 45 (now more like 60) and had a lot of passive investments and managed a fund or two. Exceptionally smart and driven. I think he was getting away from property taxes mostly, but probably also income. He moved to a much more tax-friendly state that also has their finances in order.

I know another guy that had a manufacturing plant in Chicago doing about $40m. top line revenue. He moved it across the border to Indiana. The Indiana governor personally offered him a relocation pacakge that, coupled with tax advantages and lower insurance and work comp premiums gave him something like $8m savings in the first year or two. Illinois sent a low-level functionary from Springfield with a $400k package to stay. How do you turn down $8m? Please note this wasnt' $8m cash, it was a combination of some incentives, tax breaks, job training, relocation benefits, reduced insurance and taxes, etc...
