There have been 3 or 4 threads on the OT the last few weeks asking why coffee has gotten so expensive. Maybe one day they'll get it.

One-time price increases are not considered inflation by definition.

Again, inflation is lower than when he announced the tariffs. It's down QoQ. What are you having trouble understanding here?

How about monthly price increases since April (6 months)?

Is that considered inflation by definition?

There has been a steady rise since April. Thats not a one off event.

Outside of China, has Trump increased tariffs recently?

No?

So a one-time price increase due to tariffs should have been expected.

Why is a continued price increase the fault of tariffs when tariffs have not increased?

The downward contributors are communications, housing and food.

Utilities and apparel are up.

Housing and food are down.

Who knows? He's always announcing some new "trade deal" which is nothing more than income redistribution.

He's delayed some, sped up some, changed some... The uncertainty is terrible for industry.

Good, we need the inventory. We artificially suppressed foreclosures for years and it should firmly snap back.

I hate to see people lose their homes and businesses but loss is part of a healthy cycle. Halting loss causes as many problems as it solves.

If "recently" means in the last 6 months, the answer to your question is 'yes.'

Tariffs have been increased on multiple countries since "Liberation Day" on April 2.

If anyone is keeping score (and is honest about the inflation numbers) April was the lowest inflation month so far this year at 2.3%.

The stock market HAS to go up with inflation in order for companies to retain their value.

Stocks don't magically increase in price because of inflation. Please do some research. Thanks.
