I know I'm way behind catching up, as this was on page 2, but can a lawyer tell me if the prosecutor mentioning the hospital opens the door for the defense to ask why, to ultimately get to the molestation?

He purchased the firearm for Rittenhouse several months earlier and took Rittenhouse shooting on the Black family land (13-acres about 5 hours to the northwest of Kenosha).
They spent the day of the shootings together. First cleaned graffiti, then purchased slings for rifles, then went downtown together during the protests. He had met the owner of the car lot while cleaning the graffiti and made arrangements to go back and protect the property.

That said, the nonsense at the end about whether this guy thought deadly force was necessary because of what he experienced is not relevant. He was up on the roof and no one was any threat to physically confront him, chase him, reach for his gun, etc.

That testimony will not do the prosecution any good because the situations were so different, and objecting to it would have drawn unnecessary attention and made it look to the jury like the defense THOUGHT it was important.
Smart tactical move by the defense attorney to ignore it. His lawyer is quite good.

This is because he has felony charges pending that he supplied Kyle his gun.
The defense attorney exposed it brilliantly. He said “so…. You hope to avoid jail time by testifying here today?” Black said “yes”.
Black has to be careful about what he says in that area.
