This is because he has felony charges pending that he supplied Kyle his gun.

The defense attorney exposed it brilliantly. He said “so…. You hope to avoid jail time by testifying here today?” Black said “yes”.

that was obvious but by stating it like that he gets it on the table immediately.

Generally when they do this it's because it's a minor on the stand.

They are saying he is either a minor or an undercover cop.

The prosecution identified the witness by name ... Washington. Clearly NOT Gaige Grosskreutz.

For a year, the forum has been discussing the fact that the jurors would be afraid of reaction in the community. Is it any less-reasonable to think that a witness might be concerned about the same issue?

What does it matter whether you and I get to see every witness? Especially if it means that the witness can provide honest testimony with less fear of reprisal from the mob?

Locke

EDIT TO ADD

Clearly NOT anything having to do with the age if the witness, since they were discussing a juvenile arrest in 2004 and adult convictions on misdemeanors in 2008.

If the witness were a cop, they would have said that.

This judge is concerned about what the jury hears, not what you and I get to hear.

Did anyone else notice that the prosecutor repeatedly referenced Rittenhouse by name during his opening?

I think he made a big error there, assuming that he actually wants to get a conviction. He was humanizing Rittenhouse in the eyes of the jury and thereby assisting the defense.

This is a very important case. This is about so much more than Rittenhouse.

This is another of those politically-instigated, pacification trials in another attempt to make an example of Rittenhouse, just like what was done with Chauvin.

In that they actually believe naively that making examples of defendants in these type cases will somehow cut down on future rioting and property destruction by the dregs.

So it necessitates gross over-charging of such accused.

Which results in even more intense and widespread dysfunctional behavior.

Except there's no fear of any rioting happening once Rittenhouse is cleared. None of the rioters that he shot were African American.
