I have a daughter who is near Laken's age, lives in Decatur and walks and hikes the area by herself daily.
I can't help but think how easily it could have been her.
It truly pisses me off that they intentionally let this happen.

The idea that “cruel and unusual “ punishment cannot be morally or practically justified when such would essentially end this kind of predatory evil, will fade like the morning mists as the pain of most beautiful and innocent is realized. Knotted lace up boots soaked in gasoline and a Go Pro YouTube viral video would shut these devils down in the space of a day. The only pertinent question is what it would do to the souls of good people who embrace such. That I do not know.

This is a very sad story, but before I get all into my feels about how it didn't need to happen, I would like to know how she voted? I felt the same way with Kate Steinle in San Francisco a few years back. No it will not make me think that it was deserved if she voted blue, but I would be against making her such a martyr.
