Isn't the funding already approved since you are just paying their salaries? The government fiscal year goes October - September I believe. That's when the buyouts were set to end.
Yes, the funding has been approved in order to pay salaries. The only way we won’t get paid is if there is a government shutdown down then no one gets paid until a CR or budget is passed.
I’m taking the fork in the road. I’m eligible for a small retirement and wasn’t going to work past December anyway. I’m a highly competent and take pride in the job and have worked in both the private and public sector. At 65 and already drawing a military retirement, im tired of working and want to spend the rest of my years enjoying life!

In the end, I will judge based on how much less of my money next couple of years goes to the government. Even if prices go up 5% but I pay 8% less in taxes. We win. At least then I get to choose.
Everybody wants to see an immediate personal return from cutting the deficit. That's not how this works. All this debt, public and private, represents decades of overconsumption. These decades of trade deficits represent overconsumption. We've pulled consumption forward by borrowing against future production. Sooner or later, by choice or against our collective will, we will have to consume less and our economy will shrink.
Stopping the fiscal and monetary madness doesn't immediately make us wealthier, but it might help prevent a financial collapse.

Biden inflated the jobs numbers with DEI hires. Just kept putting more people on the government payroll!

Only the unionized ones have a shot at maybe getting more than just standard unemployment funds.

The good ones will find good landing spots, the bad ones, well, I guess we need fry cooks, too.
Those job interviews will be interesting
So what have you been doing the last 10-20 years?
What was your biggest accomplishment?
When’s the last time you went to work?

I suspect a couple things.
1. Massive loss of jobs and Govt funds will cool off inflation.
2. Best ex-gov workers will be more productive
3. DNC will suffer, a huge amount of their funds come from govt subsidy donors.
4. Tariffs will be smaller than you think, in most cases US exports and domestic competition will benefit.
5. Foreign Aid will continue, but will be much more focused on US allies and friendly regimes

00s of thousands if not millions of illegals will self deport.
I am not saying they won't but what exactly is the downside to "getting deported"? I am not talking about being gone. But why would you not stay put and take your changes. If you get caught, ok, your gone. But what is the extra incentive? Is getting deported a big legal deal that prevents you from ever coming back again legally?

Go deliver some pizzas for now. You’ll get another job soon and it’ll be a REAL job and you’ll learn to appreciate hard work.
