Okay dude but you realize the actors and directors for Netflix, Amazon, HBO, etc are basically the same as the ones in Hollywood. One of the biggest anti-Trump speeches at the SAG Awards came from a Netflix series.

There are a few actors I will still see. Mark Wahlberg, The Rock, and I think Denzel. But if the director [I'm looking at you Joss Whedon and the Rogue One director] or any of the stars have come out and said how horrible I am in a tweet, post, or speech, I'm not going to see it. I believe almost every one of them spouted their BS in last night's awards show [including Stranger Things which I will miss], so my choices are getting few and far between. Why should I give my money to some one who has so much disdain for the things I believe in?

Feeling conflicted about Super Bowl as I don't watch the NFL any more b/c of their PC BS but want to support Patriots and Brady.

Yeah you go ahead and do that.

In the meantime I can separate make-believe characters from real people.

Given how On Demand media is now, consumers have so much control over what they watch and how they watch it. If any of these Hollywood types said anything to piss you off, you had to go out of your way to see it.

Meh.

Not a huge fan of boycotts in general. I am going to choose products and services based on the value they provide me.

I usually watch big box office action films and avoid the artsy crap anyway. So I think I have covered about 80% of the most outspoken actors.

Though there are exceptions. I actually liked Trainwreck.

Haven't gone to a movie in a few years now. It's already happening. Hell, I don't even buy music anymore. Pointless.

I don't watch those stupid award shows, and I don't watch a lot of network television.

Uhh, you're describing organizations headquartered in CA, WA and NY respectively, two of which rely heavily for content on the major studios.

I stopped going to movies except for Star Wars and the Marvel stuff my sons want to see.

I understand why it would be very hard not to take your children to see the movies when they first come out but since they've probably already seen most of those movies already, it would be a good time to teach the older ones about standing up for our President and it would be a good time to read books to your younger children to teach them they can read books and use their minds to create their own fantasy worlds.

You can say what you want, but Disney and Universal Pictures are not struggling when it comes to making money on movies, or the arse loads of money in the merchandising. Star Wars, Marvel, Princess's in general, Cars, the merchandising is in the billions every year from those 4 for Disney.
in 2010, disney merchandise sales were $28B. in 2015 they were $52B. I'm sure it was more for 2016 considering The Force Awakens probably gave it a nice boost.

Long story short, you aren't breaking Hollywood, at least not the Dinsey Hollywood.

I boycott them by ripping off movies via my FireStick/Kodi setup. I don't watch movies or tv shows through any other media.

The boycott would include buying any merchandise relating to movie characters for 6 months.

No. Just the manner in which they run their movie/tv divisions. Higher effeciencies, leaner crews, lower salary payouts, no union contracts.

Basically less opportunity unless you want to take much less money.

A little bit of what normal people are dealing with. But both you and hog are right. Same politics overall.

Doesn't Hollywood provide the content for these channels?

This boycott isn't starting off well.

I really don't understand 2 things. 1. why people give a frick what a rich/entitled celebrity has to say about anything besides their craft. 2. Why celebs feel it's their duty to be the torch bearers for the left or any political affiliation.

I'd add one- why do the democrats keep giving them a microphone? After the results of the election it should be blatantly obvious that celebs do not change regular folks opinions on things. Then the feminist march they trot Madonna etc up there to the podium to make even more stupid comments. Why don't they learn?

Nah, this is how the term snowflake is defined:

"An overly sensitive person, incapable of dealing with any opinions that differ from their own."

You are welcome to let it mean what you want it to mean to fit your little "false flag" agenda. But this guy is being a pussy and needs to chill out.
