Is the current budget not already something like $890 billion?

Cut out a trillion or two in overall DOGE cuts and that's a modest increase that is more than offset by savings. I have no problem with big military budgets, my problem is the stuff they spend money on and hide. Give me transparency and I'm ok with it.

At the exact same time, I acknowledge that our defense costs can easily be lowered and the military made more efficient anlt the same time of there was some rational streamlining. That is the option I would prefer.

Well, he still cut trillions in spending with DOGE. We have terrorist groups the last administration and Deep State have been sending millions of millions of dollars too weekly, billions over all, and they've been allowed to plot attacks on Israel and the U.S. with that money... and weapons we've given them. These same pricks have vowed to attack the U.S. and kill 50K to 60K Americans. There is also, reportedly, an Iranian small nuke that has crossed the border into the U.S. that they have no idea where it is. Also under the last administration, the Ukrainian dictator U.S. Deep State puppet they sent well over a 100 billion dollars to and some of our most advanced weapons, he has apparently sold military grade weapons to Mexican drug cartels to use against us when the time comes.

He's not standing between shite. He is powerless. All he is now, is an old man yelling at clouds and for kids to get off his lawn.

Watch Elon's last interview on Rogan. He says, he was basically told, you go too far with DOGE (like digging into the Pentagon and military, ICs etc.), they WILL kill you. He'll be dead.

He basically implied that he had big ideas of going to that extreme but quickly learned there is only so far they can go before they will quite literally be murdered.

So, that probably has something to do with it.

I would have liked to take the same approach as SS… by eliminating waste fraud and abuse, more of the budgeted dollars will actually be going to defense and production.

Somewhat in parallel, im curious how much of this planned spending is in new drone manufacturing where we do need significant investments to get supply chain and production going at scale domestically. Will see i guess.

the board should be against the expansion of the MIC no? many on here supposedly loathe the complex and say we spend/waste way too much already, seems like putting 1T towards it is going backwards

There is a LOT of turmoil in the world right now, with our fingerprints on it--thanks to the last few years... if not decades. But Trump has 4 years. If by the end of four years we're not involved in less war, with less spending on war, then I will be disappointed in that one aspect of his second term. I can guarantee you, we would only be seeing more war if Kamala had been elected.

Now you are an EXPERT on the military and what we as a country need to do. Does your "expertise" know ANY bounds??

No, but I do remember Trump saying the military needed to be cut by 50% two months ago,

Of course you dont.

Did he say the military or Department of Defense? I also don't recall 50%. Do recall talk of pentagon cuts of 50 Billion (8%) for 5 years, which would total 40%.

I'm still a big Trump guy I'm just not big on his tariffs. I was against his tariffs in his first term too so I haven't changed at all.

Its one of the few things the constituion provides for
And we don't have that at current spending levels, right? Only with a trillion will we get there!

Good. Defense spending is the only major expense the nation should have. We need to be ready for China. Now was not the time to start cutting its budget

1T is still less than we spend on interest by a good chunk.

Part of the issue is that we keep getting fricked on Chinese IP theft. They basically stole all of our trillion dollar fighter jet technology. We need to invest substantially more in protecting our IP

Don't get the resident tards like SDV and Momentoftruth confused with "the board"

Just see MoT's post on the first page and all of SDV's in this thread for reference when it comes to the level of "deep thought" you're dealing with there
