I do. Thank you.
No, you don't. Or you would have not asked your original question.

As stated above, they don't need to block the whole cloud provider.
Ok fine. Explain to me, in detail, how an ISP would be able to determine specific content from a cloud based platform. One that uses a large amount of IPs and who's servers are all virtualized and constantly moved to various bare metal systems based on compute and storeage changes. And all the data is encrypted.
You said you understand networking. So lets hear it.

Or a company can just pay them the amount they would lose so it's a wash for the ISP.
A company is going to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars...more than likely a month...to silence one guy? Seriously?
quote:
It concerns me that you have such an amazing amount of trust in ISPs
It's not that I have amazing trust in ISPs. It's that what you're theorizing is technically impossible at the packet level, and monumentally stupid on the business and legal level.
quote:
Specifically what legal ramifications, keeping in mind we are discussing a world completely devoid of restrictions on ISPs as far as regulating content is concerned.
You think a cloud provider wouldn't take an ISP to court for blocking all their content?

The owner of the platform flags the specific content for the ISP to censor. I did not say the ISP would do it alone and in secret.

They do not have to do it infinitely. Just long enough to starve out the other guy. You do not belive a company that makes billions of dollars a year would spend a few million to shut down competition or advance an agenda?
quote:

How could they win a court case if the ISP has the legal ability to censor content?

How do they flag the specific content? Details please. Content that's encrypted btw.

Because the cloud provider paid them money for a service, and the ISP isn't providing that service? The only option for the ISP is to drop the cloud provider as a customer. Which is their prerogative.

. i get why some people are racist against blacks, given some stereotypes. i understand why some blacks hate white people given their history. i understand why hispanics have some anger. i get the hate on the patriarchy from women.
I get what youre trying to say but what stereotypes existed about blacks when we enslaved them?

An ideology that 63 million Americans voted against.
Once again, if there is a market for this kind of stuff, it will be filled. Alex Jones and Gab aren't going to tip the scales, but if it continues, competitors will be created.

How do they flag the specific content?
Let me see if I understand how this works. So, if I start a website hosted by Microsoft, then it's impossible for Microsoft to flag all data from my website? And all data I put on my website hosted by Microsoft is encrypted even from Microsoft so that they cannot differentiate between any data hosted on their servers?
quote:
the cloud provider paid them money for a service, and the ISP isn't providing that service?
Easy enough. The cloud provider violated hate speech provisions in the terms of service and are therefore terminated.

and here we are 3 months before a midterm election and they shut down a guy with a lot of influence (however absurd the content)
Two days ago you told me this was a boom for Alex Jones as it turned him into a household name.

I can't wait until the "true conservatives" get it next, and then they can tell me about the free market solution to ending this cartel of a handful of people that own 99.9% of the town square.
There are conservative billionaires out there. There are conservative board members at these companies. If they allow it to go past the current fringe stuff, it will ultimately affect their bottom line.
Very few people care right now. If it gets the to the point you're describing, that will not be the case.

If it gets to that point it may already be too late.
But I think we are pretty much on the same page.

The free market solves all? if that were true we wouldn’t have entitlements
Entitlements are not part of the free market. They are government programs. And there is a very large agreement that government entitlements hamstring the free market.

Did the free market give HIV + kids in Africa medication, or did the bill & Melinda gates foundation?
Are you saying the foundation is not part of the free market?
